With the changes and restrictions on lobbiest, they are still wooing elected officials with lavish parties for the holidays. And even doing it on government property. They hide the names of those attending, and spare no expense with the perks. Why do they not stop the lobbying all together? I think its because the elected officials, the same ones who voted for the restrictions enjoy the perks more than they value the voters who put them there. What do you think?

"We came to Washington to change it, instead Washington changed us!". A quote stated many times and this is exactly what he is subtly referring to. Unlike when he shocked the Bush campaign in '00 in the early caucuses and primaries and became an authentic threat to Bush actually winning. He blatantly bastardized lobbyist and the grass roots movement was a huge success until, yup, the huge money that the lobbyist threw at GWB and started a negative campaign raising speculation that hadn't an ounce of truth to it thus narrowly beating McCain in the next few states. This catapulted Bush to the win. John McCain has been fighting the lobbyist movement for decades. He has undeniably the most experience to be president than ANY candidate on either side. This time around he is being far more subtle in his attack against the lobbyist to keep them at bay. I pray the strategy works for he is an American hero in his own right and his platforms have been the same for decades. He is Conservative yet is willing to bend. If we want real change in America then he is the only candidate capable of doing the job. Thank God for John McCain!!

Lobbying is legal. If you wanted your elected representatives to do something, you went to Washington, promoted your agenda...you are a lobbyist.
If a group of people have an agenda which they want to promote, they hire an agent to represent them to visit the elected officials. It makes more sense than hundreds or thousands of people all trying to do the same thing.
