I dont understand what the uproar is about he has written about his drug use in his book talked about it in speeches. Do you think it might be the Obama supporters are afraid he might be exposed as an ex drug dealer that has them frightened?

Any man that did drugs in their youth--turned themselves around and became a viable candidate for President without their Daddy's help is a good man.

There should be no "uproar", his experience is common and he was honest about it.

Shaheen could be taking one for the team by making the comment and then stepping down. Having someone loyal to you smear your opponent--someone you can later disavow or distance yourself from--is an old political trick. Remember the swift boat attacks? That was a very creative application of this technique used by Bush to destroy Kerry's credibility as a war veteran.

It's clever because it won't matter if the media focuses on the smear or tries to rebut the allegation. The majority of Americans will only remember that Obama has a history of drug use. The Republicans would have used the same tactic (and will) if Obama wins the Democratic nomination. Bush sidestepped this issue by being "born again" and it appears that Obama thought he could get around it through full disclosure.

I wonder how he'll handle this. He's not an ultra-fundamentalist like Bush, so it will be hard for him to save himself by using religious cover.

Well he dealt drugs, and the last person we want is someone setting a bad example for our children, and with all the steriod talk going on.........

Are we to allow Ex paedophile, car jackers, rapist, dope dealers, thiefs, ......

that said.......

Oh its easy, Hillary will be the president, its true most people dont like her, but the hatred for hillary has nothing to do with her experience or potential, but rather, there are certain cross section who actually think, they must end the Clinton-Bush dynasty....but I really dont think tthe democrats are willling to sacrifice the white house by opting for obama, its clear that for most democrats, Hillary is the best shot ,risky though, but not as risky as Obama......on the day of caucasing, most people would grudginly vote for hillary with the hope that perhaps a strong Obama showing would guarantee the VP ticket.....am sorry to say, Obama is everything great and nice, but he can and will not be president or vice president, because he doewsnt have what it takes.........being charismartic does not guarantee victory, it helps, but when it comes down to the electoral college...he will be sacrificed, because he doesnt have the political machinery, and if Obama becomes presidnt, he would soon discover that it can be lonely at the top without a strong political base. and machinery, and trust Oprah cant even help...he can build on what he has now and see maybe but i really do doubt......what he need is the king makers to be at his beck and call...right now, i dont see it jhappenning

The uproar is is that Clinton's campaign manager suggested publicly that Obama was a drug dealer. Her manager resigned yesterday.

Obama was on drugs, and Hillary was involved in criminal real estate schemes and god knows what else. They both have skeletons in their respective closets. Honestly, who cares? They are both hypocritical pieces of dung. The only difference is that one's an idealist that lives in fantasy land, and the other is a socialist that has no soul.
