Though many of his idea's are pertinent, due to the lobbyist today wouldn't even the Republican party override many of his veto's? Something John McCain has been fighting for decades.

Meg I fear your dreaming. Though I'm for change I fear the consequences are that the one thing the Republicans and Democrats can Agree on is not having to share power with a third viable party.

Adam B, Libertarianism isn't a bad ingredient interior the Republican social gathering. The Libertarian social gathering is stuffed with disgruntled Republicans. back to the question, Ron Paul became into saved out because of the fact he represented a coverage that became into very classic and extremely smart that became into in accordance with suggestion of the Founders of u . s . of america, like no entanglements in remote places alliances, no effectual banks that became into strongly recommended by making use of Jefferson, no "great brother" administration that Benjamin Franklin adversarial, and no rules that have been are pronounced interior the form. Your question doesn't make sense and your definition of lame duck is wrong. Traditionally congress gives the new president whatever he wants for about 90 days. It's up to the president to decide which policies he wants to enact during this period, based on his promises to the people. If Ron Paul's elected I think congress will disregard this tradition and just fight him over everything. Paul will make them earn their money though. I expect a lot of vetoes based on principle if he's elected.

With the sad demise of the effectiveness of congress, it doesn't matter who becomes president. The members of congress will continue this partisan bickering. The only thing that will be accomplished is the betterment of their corporate masters & the benefit to themselves. These two things they have become VERY good at. It really doesn't matter to any of them what the people want or think. They have long ago lost the notion that they are servants of the people. (used to be called "public servants"). I would vote for Ron Paul, however he would be hamstrung by congress. He intends to do away with the cosy deal congress has with the elire class of America. To that end, every member of congress would work against him. They do not want to lose the cash cow they have political married. Congress has a very good deal going. Collect taxes from the American people & give it to corporate America(called corporate welfare) in the form of tax breaks. Be rewarded by the business conglomerates for these public funded windfalls. At the same time, voting themselves generous pay raises & the best socialized healthcare in the world. The cleaning out of congress is just as important as the presidentual election. Without the support of congress bush could not have acheived the progress he has made on the infringements on American civil liberties. Please listen to the candidates very carefully!

Ron Paul election could only happen if a majority of the people supported him, and members of congress who did not change would lose. So Washington would change the way it operates..

Yep. Interesting tidbit . . . Americans express a greater sense of confidence and are generally happier when the government is less active . . . that is the less the government does, the more satisfied the American public . . .
