I believe Hillary's political qualifications are limited to her experience in the Senate and her experience as a lawyer. Many people seem to think that by virtue of being married to the President she is somehow more qualified to be President.
This logic is flawed in my opinion.
Would the spouse of a major CEO be qualified to run a major corporation?
Would you want to be represented in court by the SPOUSE of a well respected attorney?
Hillary Clinton was not elected to anything before she was elected to the Senate. She should be judged on the record of her personal accomplishments, in both the public and private sectors, not the accomplishments of her husband.

It is relevant experience but not sufficient. Her experience as a senator matches or exceeds the experience of the other major candidates that have a real chance or winning and being an active first lady for 8 years gives her the edge. Bidden, Richardson or McCain have a better background and I would support them over Hilary on the basis of experience, but as usual the majority of the public does not agree with me. Given the Choice between Obama, Edwards, Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee I would give the edge to Hilary on experience.

Do you know anything of Hilary's life? She was on the commission that was going bring charges against President Nixon on the Watergate Scandal. She was a partner in one of the largest legal firms in Arkansas. She was the 1st lady of both Arkansas as well as the US. As the US 1st lady, she spearheaded many events, including the failed health care reform. And now she is the senator for New York. She is a millionaire by her own means, and her family is a very political family in republican politics, including being the head of the party in Illinois. She is a celebrated author, lawyer, 1st lady and senator. She is very much qualified to be President.

Just like Michael Corleone said in Godfather, if I were ever to get into trouble, who better to have as my conciliary then my father. Same with her, who better to teach her, if she gets into trouble then her 2 time elected husband? Grow up and get off of this point once and for all!

I understand that she has been politically active on her own account for years. Anyway, being a spouse would give you enormous experience of how the political system worked, and yes I think it probably would make you better qualified than a lot of people. I only have to spend an evening in the pub with friends who are local politicians to feel I have learned a lot.

"Is being the spouse of a President qualify as experience that's relevant?"

Yes, if the spouse was whispering in the president's ear the whole time in office.

Being a spouse alone is not experience, but being politically active while being the spouse is relevant experience.
