Elections - February 2007

When they ask for suggestions, the suggestions aren't used. The one change I would like to see is to hold any elected candidate accountable for not pursuing what he or she promised while soliciting votes. How do you feel about this?

I like him to represent the democratic party. He is my favorite capable with integrity and he can direct the country for the right direction. Hilary could be her partner for next elections.

there has been a bush or clinton in the white house (president or vice) since 1980 .this is not a monarchy!! .Out of 300 million people someone else ought to be given a chance.

I really wish that our country could vote on issues instead of only getting to vote between two or three candidates and then being stuck with such lame compromises.
Just seems like so many major issues, we have no say as regular citizens.

It seems from my understanding that this system offers unfair advantage to the labour party due to the demographic arrangement of the electorate

It is possible for the conservatives to recieve more votes yet still lose on the number of elected seats.

Labour has rearranged boundaries to manipulate this system to its advantage.

Would it be better for a type of proportional representation?

Why doesnt the conservative party encourage this?

Millions are casting wasted votes.Surely there is something I dont know.

Rumsfeld can fill out the ticket as vice. Maybe Liddy or O. North as Sec. of Defense. They can run on a platform of a strong nat'l defense.

That my thread about Mitt Romney was removed? It wasn't inflamatory, it was complete with facts and argument.

I think he's a flip-flopper with no moral backbone, and I was warning people about the fact that he'll take any position on anything if it means he'll get elected.

I think Hillary could win, but I honestly don't trust, and I think alot of people feel this way. I like Obama alot, but I wonder if he can get elected. Democrats will have the edge this election, but you can't just bank on any democrat being elected. There are still alot of prejudice people in America that I think may vote against Obama because of the color of his skin and that his Dad was a muslim.

Al Gore is the most liberal of the Democrats with clout (which can work against you), but he really has picked up alot of support from his work on global warming. He also has the experience we need in foreign affairs as well. I always thought of him as a stiff like Kerry, but I honestly think he has changed. I also really don't think he wants to run again.

I know that if he ran - I would vote for him. I would even get off my butt and campaign for him (never done that before).

I can't wait to see which actor the guild awards as Hollywood's top. There's nothing like a F.A.G. award for an actor's career.

Do you think the Scottish Nationalists will gain enough seats to have a majority in the next Scottish Parliament? If so, do you think they will be able to find a coalition partner with whom they can form the next Scottish Executive?

If you know nothing about Scottish politics, please don't answer.

Does anyone honestly think she stands a chance? Is America really ready for a woman president, and not only that, one who is suspected of liking other women? I know we're a country full of liberals, but is this really how we want our country to be run?

Before you go off half witted and respond, take a second... Looking for an honest forum about how you feel about Barack Obama running for president in '08? He seems to be the only person in politics that hasn't lost his mind nor has he gone power crazy. He is interested in the young and the old, working class families and seems to be a truly good candidate that has a real chance to bring something new to our country. What is your thought? www.barackobama.com

We the citizens of india has observed it that due to the multyparty system in our politics,we are losing so mush in present scenario.in our constitution there is a multyparty system ,but don't u think that this has contributed a lot in wasting lots of money, manpower as well as our valuable time which we could ahve utilised for our progress.i agree that we all should get the chance to put our views forward,b'coz we had the right to do so,
But i think this kind of system has made our politics a safe stage for the buy-sale poratl ol mla for support a govt, certain policies, some values.i belive that now it's the time that our supreme court should think about setting a norm for eithr 2 or 3 PARTY system,so taht we can get quick reforms.b'coz a nation doesn't need a mob to solve his problems ,it's only need dedicated mind & people who r willing to serve it.
so give ur support or ur point against it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
