The reason it's a bad idea to ban all political campaigning until three months before the election is the right to free speech. I think restraints on political speech is against the constitution.

I doubt that will ever happen especially on the national level where political parties lust after power (and wealth in turn) so they are campaigning all of the time. Like car salesman they are always testing us to see just how much we can swallow. My biggest would be how the Democratic legislators who voted for the war are pretty sure we have all forgotten that. If we have to vote Repubs out for the war, we should also impeach or vote out each one of the incumbent Dems who voted for the war. And besides Hollywood campaigns all the time, every day in every way. They have a litmus test they must pass if they are going to work in Hollywood and that is you have to be whatever Barbara, Danny, Rosie et al think we should be. I sympathize, politics stinks but it really stinks all the time.

sure, sure, sure. i do not imagine campaigning ought to start up until eventually January a million of election year. We the individuals have administration -- all absolutely everyone who's termed by a pollster has to do is state that he or she would not follow the elections until eventually after the above said date. they're going to quickly get the message.

you can't. its a free country, what little is left of the word "free". the media has been campaigning for a new president ever since the 00 election with hillary as their nominee. perhaps the public will get sick of it all and just elect the unknown.

Your first step is to throw out the first amendment to the US constitution. Any laws that you would pass would be thrown out in court as violations of freedom of speech.

we shouldn't. That would be against our first amendment rights. If you don't like listening to campaigning....then just don't listen. You have that right.
