I don't believe anyone should have to answer for the actions of someone else. The whole idea of someones character being disabled because of the way their ancestors lived is ignorant.
If I have to pick. I pick the Mormon guy- Romney

Well the politician who used to own a member of Al Sharptons family is Strom Thurmond, who died in 2003 at the age of 100. He was a senator for 49 years. Mitt Romney is the mormon. I don't think either matters. It is what the person is today rather than their family. Everyone has someone in their family that did something wrong, it doesn't change who they are. I can't control what my granfather did 40 years before I was born, and neither could these men. It also works the other way, if their granfather was a hero in WWII that doesn't make them any better either.

Instead of worrying about what their ancestors did, how about focusing on if he's honest and his views on important issues. I get so sick of all this bashing. Every politician is a liar. They might have good intentions, but they still lie. The game is already in play for them to just jump in and keep it going. This is the reason the world is so messed up. People are too worried about what they did in their pasts and not concerned enough about what they are planning on doing for the future. I vote for the guy with the best track record. If his city went to crap since he's been running it, then I don't vote for him. Do your research and stop worrying about what someone's family member did back in 1800. Thank you.

You are talking about Strom Thurmond and it was his ancestors that owned slaves, one of which is a descendant of Al Sharpton.
I am voting for the candidate, NOT their ancestors. If the candidate still supported slavery, then clearly it is worse than polygamy. In the case of Thurmond however, he RAN for President as a SEGREGATIONIST in the 40's so if I certainly wouldn't vote for him if he were alive today because he never renounced those views.
As for Romney, so what if his family has a history of polygamy?...He isn't a polygamist or a supporter of polygamy so it wouldn't even come into play.

Neither... the worst one is one who judges the other candidates by what their ancestors did or did not do.
I personally will be voting for the current candidates, not their great grand parents anyway.

So you're saying that the sins of the fathers are vested upon the sons. I have never believed that for a nano second.

Neither. Who cares what somebody's grandfather did? It is completely irrelevant.

A man shouldn't be judged by his ancestors, but on his own merit.
