I know he is a supporter for the troop increase that will shortly take effect unless congress acts quick. I am just curious of the Republican opinion of him as the 2008 president elect.

I mean nationalistic as in being proud of every aspect of this country. I mean patriotic as in praising the good aspects of this country and attempting to fix the bad aspects. I mean, come on, people. During the 2000 elections, everyone was just insistent that President Bush would be the best man for the job. Now how many people think that? I believe it is less than 43%? The man was such a heavy alcoholic that his wife stated she would leave him unless he stopped drinking (which he probably still does in secret). Now you recognize your mistake of voting for Bush. You should have recognized that he was not going to go down in history as someone in the top 42 US presidents from the beginning. Not to be mean, but he does somewhat resemble a monkey, in my opinion. You voted for a monkey to be our president. In fact, I think a monkey could do a better job than Bush. Wouldn't you agree? I expect to get many answers because Americans' pride won't let them pass questions like this.

I hate that question. I would think that America would vote for the candidate that we felt is qualified to run the country. Whether or not that candidate is male, female, blue, or green should not factor into it because it doesn't determine intelligence or capability. What do you think?

Nixon ended the war in Vietnam; Eisenhower ended the war in Korea. Eisenhower worked for peaceful co-existence with the Soviet Union; Nixon worked for detente with the Soviet Union. Eisenhower supported the Supreme Court decision of Brown Versus Board of Education; Nixon supported Affirmative Action and demanded an advanced plank on civil rights at the 1960 Republican convention, which some historians suggest cost him the electoral votes of Delaware, South Carolina, and Missouri and with it, the 1960 election. Eisenhower warned us of the military-industrial complex; Nixon worked hard to avoid military conflict by normalizing relations wtih China. Eisenhower lied about the U-2 flights over the Soviet Union and then compounded the lies with contradictions and then he had the Sherman Adams scandal; Nixon lied about Watergate and had the Watergate scandal. Eisenhower was not politically conditioned; Nixon was very politically conditioned. So who was the greatest?

Instead of embracing the chance that the United States may soon have a black president, members of his own race are making it known that he's not "african american" by their terms. Because his forefathers weren't slaves in the United States, they are downplaying his "blackness" because he was born in Hawaii and his dad is from Kenya...not the son of a former slave.

-I've looked on wikipedia already. These are some of the things i've already thought of.
-The two-party system encourages candidates to destroy the other parties’ campaign rather than trying to promote their own.
-If one party becomes weak, a dominant party may develop. This makes an election unfair.
-It is'nt possible to have a third party.
-If both candidates arn't any good, we still have to pick one.
-The two main parties are pretty much the same.
-If we had more major parties, more people would vote and the results would be much more accurate.
-The two-party system encourages the Electoral College that many people have wanted to change for the past 200 years.
-If we had more than two parties, there would be more diversity. Even though the people running are different, we are still basically voting for the same people with the same beliefs year after year.
-The elections are based on money and how much you have rather than principal.

Can anyone measure up to the great FDR? I mean replacing the Great Depression with prosperity and abundance. Fighting a two-front war against Fascism. Most nations lose a two-front war. However, no Democrat has won a second term with the exception of Clinton in the recent past. Can Clinton measure up to the great FDR? Eight years of prosperity and abundance and the highest rankings in the opionion polls for any retiring U.S. president. Do not overlook his fight for gay rights and for universal health care. No other Democrat did as much for America than Clinton, with the exception of FDR. Who was greater than? It is like asking who was greater, Ali or Louis?

I think I'm going to vote for Mitt Romney. He seems to value what's more important in this countrey, like taking care of us and securing our borders. He says the government is spending way too much money and they are eating just a little too much. They have too much money in their pockets while people in america are poor. I like him. Plus, he's mormon, which means he has good morals!

U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama,Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama'sparents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, he was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school. Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.

I am on the side that against lowering the voting age to16.
However, there are several questions I am not sure how to answer.

1. If people who are 16 can drive, why not to vote?

2. If people who are 16 can have death sentence, why not to vote?

3. Some people claim that lowering the voting age can raise teenagers' interest in politics. If so, why not lower the voting age?
