Put aside your actual preference for one moment. Logically we know that he has to be the favorite right now to win the election. What would one of the other candidates have to do to beat him at this point?

Well, Guiliani seems to be the best hope for uniting both Democrats and Republicans. You never hear about him causing a ruckus between the parties. He's so moderate, sometimes he's mistaken for a Democrat. Hillary is die hard in doing what she wants to do and Obama is a die hard Liberal. I think what is going to kill McCain is his views on the war in Iraq. Besides all that, Guiliani has the reputation of America's mayor after how he took charge after 9/11. This right here has shown that he has the leadership capabilities to lead this country in the right direction. I seriously hope he wins the elections because all around, he would be a good president to face the challenges in the next term.

I think he has to worry about getting past the Republican nomination. I think Giuliani would pose a threat to a Democratic Presidential Candidate be it Edwards, Clinton or Obama in a national election. But Giuliani views on abortion and homosexuality won't gain him Republican base support. And being married three times won't win him a lot of support from married women.

Rudy is smart, personable, funny, tough and has a LOT of name recognition. If those are the sole qualities upon which you make your presidential choice, I give you the current President. Look at the mess he has made of things.

As with any candidate, Republican, Democratic or Independent...it is still two years to Election Day and a lot can happen between now and then. Everybody just chill a bit, eh?

I like Rudy, but he does not have state-level or national-level leadership credentials, does he? I mean, you could go so far as to consider NYC a city-state, but he was never a governor or state legislator, nor in the US House or Senate. He did get a lot of legal experience as a federal prosecutor, but even then he seemed to conduct himself with publicity in mind at least as much as the pursuit of justice, probably with a view to a political career.

He seems a shrewd man with a good legal mind, a competent politician, an adequate leader with the ability to rise to the occasion, probably more honest than the average candidate. Seems lacking in foreign policy, national policy, and ability to inspire and motivate on a regular basis. However, his work on 9/11 and its aftermath was truly phenomenal. If it is indicative of his true ability, he will be formidable. If it was flash in the pan and he really is the dour Noo Yawkah he so often seems, he has scant chance of getting the nomination. It might be sufficient to get him the nod as VP, and from appearances thus far, that would be the better fit for him, and he could address his shortcomings with 4 or 8 years as Veep, then be the frontrunner for Pres.

I would like to think that the Dems can't beat him...but it depends. There are a lot of people who do not vote...especially a lot of women. If Hillary is the Dems pick, she might entice a lot of women to come out and vote for her...but we'll see. She plays the polls to see what people want to hear...so who knows how the next few months will play out in the media war...people have to realize she has no real stance on anything, but in the liberal media, that works for her. However, if Obama is the Democratic candidate...he will definitely lose to Giulliani.

I am looking for a Giuliani/Gingrich ticket!

All they have to do to beat him is get the nomination. That's the way he's going to lose. He's too liberal for the conservative Republican base to support, especially with John McCain in the race. The best Rudy can hope for is VP. On the other hand, a McCain-Giuliani ticket would be unbeatable!

If George W. Bush is not impeached there will be no way that a Republican can get elected President in 08.

Bush is the Democrat's greatest asset

Guiliani has ZERO chance of winning. Anyone who is pro-abortion, pro-gun control, or pro-gay rights is toast in the Republican primaries, and Rudy's all three. Plus he's bee divorced twice, even tried to move his friend in the Mayor's Mansion when his then-wife was still living there!

He was just a Mayor. Big deal. What did he do? Made people feel better after 9-11? So what!

Uh, he's not even close to the favorite at the moment. He may not even be the favored Republican at the moment. He may have the most name recognition of any Republican running, but he's not nearly the most popular with the big funders, which are who really matter, especially this early on.

Theres no way he's going to win. All he's done is been mayor of a city. Actually you are the first person I've heard that thinks he even has a chance.
