What do you think? Some may say that requiring all Americans to vote would result in uninformed votes, but I think these would be outweighed by people who know what they want, but don't vote because they "don't have the time", or "forgot".

Countries around the world are doing new things to change with the times, until they have to deal with us. We come to the table with the same mind set every century, no change, Colin Powell had reservations about our current problem, and we allowed for the old guard to run him out for caring about our American women and men,who are now serving their interest, not ours, ours is to bring them home!

Rather than having them stand up behind their equal-height podiums in identical blue suits without a hair out of place, let's sit 'em down and put them on lie detectors. I know it's not foolproof, but it would certainly change the dynamic of the whole thing. The followup questions would rock, too. "Senator, the polygraph indicates that you're being deceptive...."

Why is it that Fundamentalist/Evangalical Christians seem to vote Republican? (Not all do this but most do). I was watching a clip on television, Rev. Falwell was giving a speech and he said that "We determine who is going to be in the White House and who will sit on the Supreme Court." It is a scary thought to think that most Americans vote along a cultural continium.

Probability factors:

If you are white, Christian, middle/ upper middle class and southern, most likely you will vote Republican.
If you are African American Christian poor, middle, and even upper class you are more than likely going to vote democratic.
I know that this is not true of everyone, but I am largely speaking in generalities.
Why is race, class and religious affliation an in effective indicator of how we will vote?
