As long as they allow "other".
Or how about this:
Would you vote for those who "Make" you vote?
OR, didn't everyone vote on forced voting?
What countries force voting? Should the US be more like them?
In the US, you have a right to try and get the law made forcing us all to vote.

YES if you dont care enough to get involved in running your country then maybe you should find a new one ......lets say a communist one where they would be happy to tell you what to do without your input or opinions.
You mentioned that all Americans voting would result in uninformed votes. I know of many people that take there mentally challenged adults to vote (now you cannot tell me that, that is not an uninformed voter.) In fact I think alot of Americans are uninformed, when they do vote. But this is America and I think everyone should be required to vote.
HERE IS AN IDEA LETS VOTE ON IT: lol

I would hope it never comes to that. What would happen is a bunch of uninformed people casting votes for whoever/whatever struck their fancy rather than people well educated on the political races, issues, etc. Even though I am registered to vote, I don't as I don't have time and have no clue really what's going on, every politician's a liar whose true agenda doesn't show until they are elected, etc. I don't need someone telling me what to do (and nor do I complain about the outcomes of elections and what the elected officials do...I don't have that privilege to since I don't vote).

Hmm...I think there are too many people who don't really care and/or uninformed. I think it's better to leave it as it is and give people the choice. Some don't vote for a reason, too. Then for those who get upset about who's elected, they should know next time to vote.

I am a felon for something that I did when I was 18 I am now 40. 8 years after being convicted ( I didn't do anything real bad, got caught selling a little weed, Hey I was 18) I received a letter from the State stating that I was still not allowed to have a firearm, but I had been given back my "right" to vote and (here is the part that I think is what makes are country great) my " OBLIGATION" to jury duty. We are a country that refuses to do what is best for each other. Obligation for jury duty!!!!! And people feel that it is a nuisance. I think you should have to vote. But even if you made them they still would refuse to give it any thought. Can make them vote but you can't make them think.

I don't think people should be forced to vote, but rather voting should be made easier. For example- nation wide same day registration, more polling places, electronic voting, fewer voting restrictions and possibly even a voting holiday.

We should not be required to vote, but we should be required to be educated about the issues and the people BEFORE we vote. It doesn't help to complain after the fact.

If people can't find the time to vote I don't think making those peolple vote is a good idea, they obviously care nothing about politics.

Undoubtedly it should, I equate voting to a civil responsibility like jury duty, however citizens should also have the right to vote for a pass allowing them to not vote for anyone if they so choose, but they must at least show up.

I think all eligible citizens should vote, but to participate in the electoral process should be a choice, not a requirement.
