Don't tell me it was to start a debate about who is fighting.....80% are repubicans
That would be totally dishonest if that were the pretext. Most Dem's favor a draft.

This isn't the first time the dem has tried to put on the floor the subject of the draft. And for anyone who can put two and two togeher, it's a blanket admission that Clinton didn't know when to quit with the "down-sizing" of the military that Bush senior had started. The dem.s said we'd never be in another two-front war and that because communist Russia had fallen, that there were no more enemies of the state. Believe me, Clinton's down sizing was so completely ill conceived and ill advised. I remember asking Admiral Nader (one of the politically appointed architects) about the reason. His response was that "the economy is slow." So, I said, if the economy is slow, that usually means that people aren't working. If they're not working, they have no money. No expendable income. How is taking thousands of gainfully employed people who work for wages well below minimum wage, cutting their jobs and turning them out to an already retarded economy suppose to help? Won't that be more of a strain? I was told to sit down and was never really given an answer. Yep, we'd NEVER fight another two front war.

That's a preposterous assumption. One politician submits that and all you Repukes get all riled up since you lost. Give it a rest. We've listened to the right-wing rhetoric for so long .. people aren't falling for it anymore.

There will not be another draft. It was more of a comment on war & society.

EDIT: "Most Dem's favor a draft." Nice ... spreading more lies all in the name politics. And there you go, another reason the people don't buy into the Republican anti-agenda.

No, that is not the plan -- It is Charles Rangel's way of creating a debate on the war and who is fighting it. He knows there is no chance of it passing and most democrats oppose the draft, including the new Speaker of the House

The horrible sadness is'nt that the Pentagon announced a shortage of new recruits, and then raised the maximum age to 42, oh no! The horrible sadness is that both Ann Coulter, and that other a--hole, Sean Hannity are both 45.

There's still alot of *** kicking to do. If we need to draft, we definitely should. We also need to bring back carpet bombing and napalm. And we should also use at least one nuclear warhead in both Iran and North Korea. That would scare the piss out of them and they capitulate to our demands. Right now, they aren't the least bit worried about us because we're too compassionate and they're using that as leverage.

Well, if it happens, don't let all your damn hippies run away to Canada again. We have too many left over from your last draft.
