Is the next great depression just around the corner?

2006-07-09 18:57:00 · 8 answers · asked by Anonymous

Our Government was not designed to be such a monster! The idea of the federal government was to regulate interstate and international trade, maintain a militia (armed forces).
Our founding fathers could NOT have forseen that our country (nor world) could have become as it is today, but they surely would HATE the government of the United States!
Of course, how could they have seen this? their most technological achievements were forges and wrought iron. Beyond that, their technology was not much different than it was in the time of Christ.
That having been said, we need to clean house, don't we?
The career politicians make a mess, on purpose, just so they can act like they are doing us a favor by trying (half-heartedly, at best) to clean it up again.
We have so mush inside us, as Americans to be proud of, but they sell us down the river, time and time again.
ROBBING US OF BILLIONS FOR STUPID AND WASTEFULL IDIOCIES!
Isn't time to flush them away?
I think so!
ARE YOU WITH ME?

Bono, please explain to me why rich people like yourselves who drive in fancy cars and live in huge houses, tell people like me who make minimum wage and cant even afford to pay his rent on time to help make poverty history. It seems to me that maybe you should give up all that you own and save millions of life’s with your valuable things and then come and talk to me, a guy who has a family and cant afford to the bread. Bono I know you want the Nobel Prize so do us all a favor and stop telling us what we can do and maybe ask yourself what you are not doing.

I just looked on a website American Renaissance, and it was labeled as a conservative website but all the stories and research were how whites were supreme to blacks and hispanics, basically blaming all that is wrong in the world on minorities. And it always seems that the conservative initiative always puts rich, white americans above all other issues of concern in our government. Does conservative mean racist in disguise?

Every minority group i can think of has overcome oppressive insults by wearing it as a badge of honor, example: Quakers.
It is a question of taking the first strike option off the table.

If all the people in NorthAmerica gave at least ten dollars a year to third world countries, we could put a stop to the poverty of the world and give hope to those affected by hunger, hiv/aids, malnutrition, and other deadly conditions.

...When only a moron would say that saving the environment or attaining peace would be a bad thing. Why do people who care about these things get negative names like tree-hugger, hippie, and feminazi? Are people really against these things or is this about something else? Just wondering.

Most people (myself included) complain about what America had become. It seems that those with money control the political agenda, and those without are too busy with the daily grind.

Please share your resources for empowering ordinary citizens. Thank you.

There are few candidates these day that people really want to vote for. They all have thier downfalls. Republican/Democrat doesn't seem to matter much anymore as both parties are wacked out. In a sea of unworthy candidates I think there is one man that stands out. General Colin Powell. He is a brilliant man and would make a strong American president. This is not a question of race, but more a question of capability. He seems an obvious choice for me and many others. So why won't he run? and if he did - would you vote for him?

Whn ppl are dieing of hunger, of diseases, why does the US, CANADA, UK, CHINA, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN, VENEZULA, RUSSIA and all countries of this world where “people” of the same human race live invest for guns, warships etc. to kill and draw blood of their own race speaking a different language, religion or skin color. Is it wrth it? Why do we do it? Why do we have to let this continue? Ppl die without food, without medicine. Isn’t it time we undrstnd? Why can’t we all be like brothers and sisters and share this world together? Would it ever happen and when do we decide to make the change? Humans breathe, they eat, laugh, cry, love, understand, hate, forgive. Every human lvng and dead has done so at least 1’ce in their lives. Why can’t we make a change and for change make humanity #1? Spend so that ppl get to live longer, happily with all their material, social and spiritual needs satisfied?
