Our Government was not designed to be such a monster! The idea of the federal government was to regulate interstate and international trade, maintain a militia (armed forces).
Our founding fathers could NOT have forseen that our country (nor world) could have become as it is today, but they surely would HATE the government of the United States!
Of course, how could they have seen this? their most technological achievements were forges and wrought iron. Beyond that, their technology was not much different than it was in the time of Christ.
That having been said, we need to clean house, don't we?
The career politicians make a mess, on purpose, just so they can act like they are doing us a favor by trying (half-heartedly, at best) to clean it up again.
We have so mush inside us, as Americans to be proud of, but they sell us down the river, time and time again.
ROBBING US OF BILLIONS FOR STUPID AND WASTEFULL IDIOCIES!
Isn't time to flush them away?
I think so!
ARE YOU WITH ME?

"Vote the rascals out " is a common refrain. Part of the difficulty is that these men/women were not rascals prior to being elected. The problem may be the 'system' which requires such huge amounts of money to run for office that the incumbents must fall prey to the lobbyists and their money. I don't know the fixative...other than having totally publicly financed campaigns. But, our Supreme Court has said that is a denial of free speech (symbolically) vis a vis campaign contributions. So, for now, the reform score is:LOBBYISTS 25 CITIZENS 4. However, the game is not over. PLEASE CONTINUE TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AS I AND MANY OTHERS CONTINUE TO DO.

You're right on! ALL the DC officials are hip deep in lobby money and corruption. The BBC has been running stories for many months and the US media will not run the stories.
They all lie, cheat, steal, backstab, corkscrew, and dirty deal. I could make an iron clad case for each claim, but I'm out of time.
They are in every sense of the word Flim Flam Men! Just like George C. Scott says flim flam men are in the movie " The Flim Flam Man".

There is this attitude, though, of "Yes vote the rascals out....just don't vote MY congressman out." I am guilty of it too. I am lucky enough to actually know my congressman. I don't want him gone, he is a good guy. A lot of people feel that way about their senator or congressman-mine is good. Vote the rest of them out.

I don't see the issue of a bunch of green legislators as a problem. It's a chance for real growth.

Our Founding Fathers could not have foreseen that so few people would actually get out and vote. Whatever your beliefs, you should demonstrate them at the ballot box. Decisions are made by those who show up!

we ought to have discovered that had the Pelosi Congress allowed the Republican change bypass ahead on Tuesday addressing ACORN funding; obviously it became dumped alongside with the change asking for a Congressional study of Pelosi's CIA mendacity costs. those were amendments to a funding bill which funds ACORN.

Preach it, brother! :) The federal government has grown so far beyond it's original intention that the Founders must be rolling over in their graves.

The problem with that idea is a lack of experience. I worry what blunders an all-rookie government would make.

I believe in term limits. One decade maximum.
