Let's see... the dollar is collapsing, and it costs more than one cent to make each penny that is pressed at u.s. mints. I would save your pennies (literally), and store up canned food. It comes in handy during disasters of other kinds, too.
Also: Buy guns and ammo. Gas mask. Locks for your doors. I'm serious. Don't be a victim.

Canned goods are great to save for any disaster. But be aware, they do have an expiration date and will have to be rotated out if stored for any length of time. MRE's (meals ready to eat) like the military consumes are the best for long term storage. You can find them in any military surplus store or catalog: www.uscalvary.com is one. I am not going to predict the next depression, nuclear war nor any Apocalypse. You can run scared but if you like but if you want to just take a few steps to store some food, like MRE's, then that may relieve some of your anxiety.

i don't know about a depression but with natural disasters and anything else that can happen, it's not a bad idea to have some food storage. i have a 72 hour kit for each member of my family.

yes, but not just canned food... batteries, flashlights or lanterns, etc.... survival stuff. Especially if what the experts are saying about the bird flu are true. (That it will mutate)

Yes, and make sure you have plenty of tin foil. You will need lots of little hats.
