That actually happened here a few years ago. They were teenagers from a rich neighborhood and were caught counterfeiting money.

The judge gave them a lecture and released them to their parents. I don't know if any government agencies got involved.

Bear in mind, that only happened because they were rich and lived in a wealthy suburb. If they were inner city kids, they would have been put you away for years.

It's not the Secret Service you have to worry about, they guard the top officials. It's the Treasury Agents that will get YOU!

Joke all you want, Federal prison is no laughing matter.

I used to work as a guard, when the new arrivals get off the bus, one of the oldtimers is always near by and asks this question--"do you f**k or wash socks?"

Since the punishment for doing this is worse than death, go ahead and shoot the first couple of agents you see. That way, you'll have reduced the number of THEM that the next counterfeiting hero has to face.

Umm...since the secret service protects the president I would say that they would tell the people who it concerns, who would likely fine you and possible give you jail time.

oddly enough, i know someone who did this.

they show up at your door, question you, arrest you. if they have sufficient evidence, they take you to court, and you go to jail for around 20 years.

personally, i don't think it's worth it, but i suppose that's your call.
