parties are now going either too far left or too far right. I believe that the folks in the middle are being left out of the process. I have never pulled the handle on a straight ticket because usually there is one democrat or more whom I wish to vote for. I am sure that there are democrats who feel the same way. So what can us folks in the middle do to bring our respective parties back to the center where they actually govern the country? Please do not give nasty answers I am serious.

Would that get yahoo's attention?

It's SOOooo much easier than changing a clock, and you would'nt have to buy a special clock that changes itself - and they give out free calendars all over the place!

I ask this because as Australians we are often baffled by the parades and pomp we see displayed during many other country's national days (such as Bastille Day, Independence Day etc.), when Australia Day is usually seen as an excuse to gather with mates around the BBQ.

As well as this, we are often faced with the likes of America with their "aren't we just grand?" type attitudes, leaving us Aussies often scratching our heads in utter disbelief.

So I ask - is patriotism just another form of arrogance, or is it just that it is often taken to the point of excessiveness?

This is just my viewpoint and I would appreciate any insights. I think our culture is losing its moral basis and becoming more corrupted.
There are so many bad things happening in our culture such as gun violence, race/ethnicity discrimination, high divorce rates, sexually explicit media, drug, alchohol & tobacco problems, etc...
I think something is not right when you live in a culture in which you get ridiculed for saving virginity. These days, losing a virginity is not even a big deal anymore. It has become almost a norm, even among some christians.
I also am in awe when I see so many people getting divorced. I can understand some marriages having to end up in divorce but 50% divorce rate makes me question about our current culture.
Our culture has been marred with sex, drugs, gun violence problems among others. I really want to see our society embrace more morality and remove many of those evil sides.
Do you have any insights regarding this critical issue we face today?

It's a whole clan of old ladies wearing red and purple (gang colors!) and they overcrowd the malls and shopping centers. They walk so slow, that I can never do my shopping. They terrorize citizens and are extremely rude to them! I am so against this "organization".

Conservative CEOs have a surprise for you after you vote Republican:

America's largest companies could save $58 billion a year by moving nearly 1.5 million back-office jobs overseas over the next decade, according to research conducted by The Hackett Group, a business consultancy.

That translates to $116 million in annual savings and the transfer of nearly 3,000 full time-equivalent jobs abroad for the typical Fortune 500 company, Hackett says in a report to be released Nov 7. Hackett provided a summary of the report to InformationWeek.

Happy job hunting!

If we do not want to make it mandatory, then why do we not pay people to vote?

Why do people choose not to vote in the first place?

Many who who hate the thought of Foxnews still use Myspace, even though they are owned by the same company, NewsCorp.

And people who "hate supporting" the tobacco companies use products from Phillip Morris all the time, including Oreos, kraft macaroni and cheese, Kool-aid, tombstone pizza, shake and bake, etc. The list goes on forever.

If people "care so much" that they go out of their way to keep their dollars away from these companies why don't these people make sure they aren't supporting these companies in a backhanded way?

Given the fact that the United States seems to have turned it's back on reason, and a sense of human decency along with it, I am wondering what it might take to bring some sense there way. What would be the impact I wonder if the world held a national day for burning the American flag where-ever it flies - would that finally get the message across of how we all feel about their recent behaviour??

MN gets very cold in the winters and I am eagerly doing my very best to try and find coats and/or jackets for OUR MN Homeless!!! We have familes, young people and the elderly; who are currently in dire need for these items!!! I figured by now, that some of the Larger U.S Apparel Mfg.'s, who happen to make very Large Profits; could easily give away ALL the NEEDED coats and Jackets! Why them, U ask?? Because Most of our homeless people Today, came from those companies! Those companies DUMPED ALL THE U.S. EMPLOYEE'S and then MOVED ALL the mfg. plants to China to make Super Large Profits Off of the U.S.'s citizens!!!!
