Was employed by Social Security 32 years. Social Security and Medicare, of course. Note: SSI is not Social Security although administered by Social Security. Medicaid is not a Social Security program. Think Medicaid State aid.

Medicare (health insurance, including prescription drug benefits now)

AND

Social Security (federal retirement plan)

90+% of all seniors in the US collect from these programs.

Social Security, because they have been paying into it for 45 years on average.
Medicare with a real drug program, because now that they need it, they have to pay more every month then they use to pay for medical in a year.
