If someone is giving to charity does it really matter the motivation, since people/animals are still benefiting from it?

Greg - you don't aloow email - this is me

but im not talking about candidates, im talking about the general public, mostly the "rich" public, they tend to give alot. Turns out I dealt with chairty during my last job and they got some deducs but not enough to counter effect the # of $ they were giving, so it seems alot of people think richies get more back in return for ciontributing, but they really dont, they give, they get a small tax break in return and they end up on the down side of it. But they still give!!!

I've always heard that God loves a cheerful giver. To the receiver I guess they really wouldn't care why you give just that you do. The more you give the more you will see that your real reason for giving is that it makes you feel good. You sound like a great person with a big heart. Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The motivation is immaterial - that the charity benefits from the donations is all that matters. The whys can be left to the donors' consciences and accountants.

Hi Sway - If a politician is running for office, his/her polls show she/he is not doing well with African-Americans, so he/she donates one million dollars to a charity run by the NAACP - yes, I think it matters. He could say he was 'just donating' - to me it looks like an attempt to buy votes . . . maybe this is not a good example, but get my point.

I think it has to come from the indivisuals heart, though a relucntant(spelling) donation is beneficial it doesn't really mean anything if the person's heart isn't in it.

It's always admirable to give to a charity. I was raised to believe that if you "tells someone" you did it, you get no points in heaven. ;)

No, as long as other people are benefiting other than yourself.
