I think you have your facts a little confused, son. I happen to be a red hat lady and people such as yourself laugh and tease us but being that we are "ladies" we just smile and ignore your ignorance. By the way here is a URL you can check out and fins out for yourself what we are all about. In the meantime, God bless you and please stop harassing us.

No it is more of a movement, women once repressed acting out to be noticed. Here is there manifesto:
When I Am An Old Woman
I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in ships and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and a pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old and start to wear purple.

Hi dumE,
No I don't consider them gang members! Do they carry weapons, shoot innocent people, steal or rob people?
Consider this someday you will be elderly too!
Didn't your parents teach you yet how to respect your elders?
I have never ever heard Red Hat Ladies being rude!
LQQK at it this way it's a bunch of old women getting together to have fun, chatting, meeting other Red Hatters, volunteering there services to better others, so they walk slow at least some can walk. Good thing I am older & did attend a Red Hat Ladies meeting hell some of them were in there 70's, 80's & not my cup of tea they were older & wiser than me. So take a good LQQK at yourself before you judge others
besides you can shop anytime in fact why don't you start shopping after 11:00PM then you can whiz right by without old folks getting in your way. Do you have a grandmother? Would you tell your grandmother this to her face? Grandmother you are so slow I don't wanna walk with you. LQQK you are aging as I type!

Watch what you say. What goes around comes around. Someday you will be old, and maybe full of arthritis and walking just as slow or slower than they are. I have never known them to be rude and terrorize people. Some of them are friends of mine; and no, I'm not old enough to be a red hat lady.
Get a life; preferably outside the mall.

if an older person or a person with a disability is walking too slow for you at the mall, you need to learn compassion.
Let me tell ya, if you smiled at them and said how are you? Tell me about your hats- they would be very happy to tell you.
I wonder what they might be saying about you- gee- that lady kept walking on my heals and she pushed by me with out saying excuse me!
Do I have to remind you of the golden rule?

LOL no. They are just a bunch of lonely old ladies who want to feel like they belong. Give the old ladies a break. They were your age once and probably felt the same way you do now.

I think they are just a group of older people that enjoy getting together to have a good time, enjoy each other's company, and dress up in a way that makes them look foolish. Maybe, they don't have a life! I am older and my daughters told me if they ever see me dressed up like that running around town they are putting me in a nursing home!! I don't think they have anything to worry about. ha-ha.

Since we have the 4th., 5th., and 6th., ammendments to the Constitution suspended by Bush. They could be arrested and taken to another country for torture and questioning. Since the NSA records all Yahoo Questions they could even be suspected now.

It's nothing like the moose gangs of Alaska. Trust me.
Yet I still love those moosies with their goofy mugs...

Of course you would be against them. They are happy, productive people who enjoy life. You are a complainer.
