I just have a question regarding with my cousin's case. I believe they were petitioned 1986 and their case is pending right now. On 1991, a Volcanic Erruption occured in the Philippines which buried houses and villages near the volcano. Unfortunately, the petition papers were all buried. All the copies, case numbers, NOA were gone. The Petitioner doesnt have any copies as well. Even though NVC will mail their petition papers, the village is non exsistent anymore and i believe you cant do any change of address request unless you have the Case Number. Is there any way that they can obtain their Case number again? or what should they do to follow up on their case even if they dont have their case number? I'm lookin forward for you reply. Thanks in advance! God Bless.

I've read a story of a Canadian female prisoner who earned a degree in Psychology (from Queen's University) while serving her sentence.

This was news to me. (And I don't know if this possible in my country. I've heard of prisoners in my country though, who completed Grade 5 and 6 while serving their sentences).

I assume that prisoners are supposed to have a high school diploma to qualify for such programs, aren't they?
Do they have to write any other examinations to be accepted?
And how many programs (or majors) are available?

Finally, as for their university work, are there classes in prison?
Or is the teaching method the same as in distance learning?

That was a quite interesting news story, I must say.

Okay here's the situation today in Phoenix two news helicopters were covering a police chase when they crashed. All 4 people on board died. Now something was passed that anyone causing the chase could be charged with any deaths that happen because of the chase.

Personally I think it's a good thing considering what's happened in the past and today. Just wanted to know what you guys thought about it.

5: It is silly to assume they (Hijackers) could've flown a plane.

4: No way, cell phones calls could’ve been made from that altitude and speed the plane was traveling at.

3: Tape recording was played allegedly from flight 93. This included the passengers discussing how they were going to break down the door using a drink cart.

I heard that the driver of the stolen car can be held responsible for the 2 helicopters crashing. How? I think it is very sad that the helicopters crashed, but I don't see how it's the drivers fault...it's not his fault that the two pilots got too close.

But every town has underground pipes. And most, say the American Society of Civil Engineers, have pipes that are fifty years old or more. In this profound sense—it threatens everyone, everywhere—this rot is more worrisome than a terrorist attack.

This is truly an enemy within. Every day, conservative politicians fight for the right not to take care of infrastructure, just like Ronald Reagan: "Government is not the solution. Government is the problem."

My son served as an Army infantryman from 2001 to 2002, but I guess he's still in reserve today. now Army is calling to mobilize him, for the Iraqi war. I will not let him go even if they put me in jail (my son comes home about once a month, I'll make sure the mobilization doc does not get to him, for one thing). But is there anything else that we can do? We have been against this war from the beginning, but I guess they will not take this. How about this: He's our only child, and we are old? Also, his battlefield skills have faded long ago, now he's gained other skills and is working on an important FEMA project? Please help. Should we hire a lawyer?

I work for a non-profit school, and there are only 5 people who are authorized to sign employee's paycheck. Two signitures are required on the paychecks. Today I received my paycheck, and one one is authorized, and the other is just another employee. My question is two-fold. Is this fraud, and what penalities am I looking at if I cash this check? And if this is an illegal check, how do I report it and not get fired?

They just passed the law at the beginning of July. If a juvenile gets convicted they take away ur permit"(I live n VA)Yall kno I was mad. Collapsing home values leave every child behind—a vicious circle, hurting everyone. Is anyone in the White House talking about this?
But rather an opportunity for politically ambitious progressives, when you think about it—not least those ambitious Democrats who happen to be running for president
By ">this spring, one homeowner for every 775 lost their home to foreclosure. In Colorado it was one per 292 households. California's numbers had tripled from the previous year, accounting for 21 percent of the national total. "New City of Aspiration" Las Vegas is at one per 139 households.
