I am really confused as to what is going on in our beloved USA. Please explain your answer for my own sanity and those who are similarly situated as myself. Thank you.

I'm a democrat, and though I like my party's frontrunners, all three of them, I'm realistic enough to realize they don't have much of a chance. Hillary's a woman, and I don't know if this country is ready for a president that isn't male and white, which also excludes my personal favorite, Obama. John Edwards and his 400 dollar haircut or whatever have neatly put him into the punchline catergory. That's what beat Kerry in '04.
Agree? Disagree?

Looking to name my Dodge Ram something amazing. I want people to cry when they hear my engine getting closer to them. I want to give it a name, one that will bring fear to the hearts of children, and bring villagers to their knees in prayer. I want to first gather a list of suggested names, and then have people vote on those names.
So far the suggested names are:

The Black Satyr
The Beast
Venom
Lucipher

Suggestions will be greatly appreciated. (btw, it's black)

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on immigrants and being an AMERICAN in
1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or
origin. But this is predicated upon the persons becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Isn't he still right?

Terri Everett, Senior Procurement Executive of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, is quoted as saying "70% of the total Intelligence Community budget is spent on contractors." (some $34 Billion and many not even US companies)

Do you have any personal feelings on the matter? Is this the reason we're safe? Do those contractors have any accountability to US citizens? If it's working should we just leave it be or is it classic government overspending...the proverbial $100 hammer?

My son was sent to Kuwait before being transfered to Baghdad. I have only heard from him once letting me know that he arrived ok. I also got one e-mail telling me that his orders had been changed and he's going to Baghdad instead of Al Assad. How do you not go crazy waiting and waiting, I guess I'm just not very good at the waiting game. Just wondered if anyone else was going through or has been through the same thing?

Early on in a visit to the $27 million dollar institute of non-learning, the "Answers in Genesis Creation museum museum", each visitor is given advice on the proper mind frame to have for the visit:

“Don’t think, just listen and believe”. [..] Human Reason is the enemy and God’s Word is the hero. Descartes represents Human Reason, saying “I think, therefore I am”. But God tells us there no need to waste your beautiful mind, for God says “I am that I am”.

So logic, reason and science are Bad; blind faith is Good right?

Is this the conservative mindset?

As you may recall, on Memorial Day, some Liberal protesters were burning the American flag in my town. I walked over toward them and when I got near them, one of these dirtbags, wearing an old Clinton-Gore T-shirt, got too close to me and sorta brushed up against me . So, I reached back and smacked the taste out of his mouth. When the police saw what happened, they rushed over and I told them I feared for my safety.

As you know, the Lib was charged with assaulting me even though I smacked him silly! Haha. Well, the court hearing occurred today. The officer, of course, was there and we had a good conversation. The prosecutor was a cool guy as well. They were being flirtatious.

Well, the Lib tried to plead "not guilty." LOL. He said I used the event as a pretext to whack him and that he had no intention of doing any harm to me. He was found guilty of misdemeanor assault, among other things, fined $300 plus court costs, and sentenced to 40 hours of Community Service!!!

I just received a letter in the mail about a parking ticket that had a penalty added to it because apparently I had a parking ticket on May 4 that I wasn't aware of. I sometimes get parking tickets for "overtime parking", meaning I leave my car on the street overnight. I'm not debating that fact, but the cop who issues the ticket often fails to secure it to my car, resulting in the wind blowing it away. It's happened before, and I got another parking ticket last week that I would not have known about if I didn't happen to be standing outside when the wind blew it up the sidewalk.
I can either pay the ticket (an extra $30, not a huge deal, but it's the point of the thing) or go to traffic court to dispute it. I am unable to go because it coincides with my work hours, and I can't afford to do that right now. Could I maybe send them a written complaint? What's the best thing to do here? Thanks for your opinion!

A Georgia judge ordered the release Monday of a man sentenced to 10 years in prison for having consensual oral sex with a 15-year-old girl when he was 17.

The judge threw out Genarlow Wilson's previous sentence and amended it to misdemeanor aggravated child molestation with a 12-month sentence, plus credit for time served. Under the new ruling, he will not be required to register as a sex offender.

Wilson, now 21, has been behind bars for more than two years.

Murder is a legal term. The average citizen is not qualified to determine whether or not something is "murder."

Since the government has deemed that abortion is not murder, could one of you hysterical pro-lifers who constantly screeches about how it is please provide the legal statute defining abortion as murder?

Not your interpretation - a currently valid legal statute put into place by our government.
