The government can't actually provide health care - Hillary Clinton is not a doctor or a nurse. "Universal Health Care" means the people who now have it and pay for it will also pay for those who don't now have it to get it. And they'll also pay for the bureaucracy that will oversee this massive redistribution program.

In other words it's the Great Society all over again.

The Great Society was not only wrong in principle - - it is NOT the function of government to force some people to pay other people's bills - - but it also didn't even work, didn't do what it was created to do.

Why do we want to go down this road again even though it has proven to be the road to failure, the Road to Serfdom?

They boycott businesses and cities when they feel slighted, they routinely cry racism whenever a black is arrested, and are plainly anti-white not pro-black.

There is some forward integration - E&P firms may also own refineries, they and other refiners may also own marketers and even retailers, and it's the largest integrated oil companies that are typically referred to as "Big Oil" - but most of the profit is earned at the E&P level - i.e., at the wellhead.

And that's where most of the loss is also realized when prices fall below the projected prices at the time the investment was made.

And you can only hedge 18 months out.

But even with the positive investment, there's a finite amount of oil at the bottom of each well - the company has to maintain reserves or it's a wasting asset. Those mineral rights costs and drilling costs have skyrocketed even more than the price of oil. But the E&P companies CAPITALIZE those - meaning they show up on the cash flow statement as capex and on the income statement are depreciated over 15-25 years.

That's why there are "record profits" but "Big Oil" firms trade at such low P/E multiples.

After reading pages after pages after pages of the history I'm beginning to worry voters are not educated on these issues. America is trying to fix our image abroad and I’m not sure how much time we have to fix the Clinton's image. Can one of you assure me that another Whitewater won't happen under the Clinton's watch?

Thank you in advance.

HUMAN ACTIVITY, BY A FACTOR OF OVER 150 PERCENT!

Comparison of CO2 emissions from volcanoes vs. human activities.
Scientists have calculated that volcanoes emit between about 130-230 million tonnes (145-255 million tons) of CO2 into the atmosphere every year (Gerlach, 1999, 1992). This estimate includes both subaerial and submarine volcanoes, about in equal amounts. Emissions of CO2 by human activities, including fossil fuel burning, cement production, and gas flaring, amount to about 22 billion tonnes per year (24 billion tons) [ ( Marland, et al., 1998) - The reference gives the amount of released carbon (C), rather than CO2.]. Human activities release more than 150 times the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes--the equivalent of nearly 17,000 additional volcanoes like Kilauea (Kilauea emits about 13.2 million tonnes/year)!

Congressman David Obey has unbelievably huge balls to try and cover up for the House scum that passed the Surrender Resolution on Friday. First the leadership bribes unscrupulous politicians for yes votes, the Obey has the nerve to blame the Washington Post, which called the House out for its despicable act.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNp4xuxi290&embed=1

Said the Post:
Altogether the House Democratic leadership has come up with more than $20 billion in new spending, much of it wasteful subsidies to agriculture or pork barrel projects aimed at individual members of Congress. At the tail of all of this logrolling and political bribery lies this stinger: Representatives who support the bill -- for whatever reason -- will be voting to require that all U.S. combat troops leave Iraq by August 2008, regardless of what happens during the next 17 months or whether U.S. commanders believe a pullout at that moment protects or endangers U.S. national security, not to mention the thousands of American trainers and Special Forces troops who would remain behind.

The Patriot Act gives the government more power...and uses more tax dollars (or at least opens avenues for that use)...... isn't that innately non-conservative? Isn't that the opposite of what the republican platform calls for?

Unfortunately, they ARE going to take over America by their sheer numbers. Millions cross the border every year. They have lots of kids they can't afford. The kids automatically become U.S. citizens. Eventually, most American citizens will be Mexican who will vote for Mexicans. All of our government leaders will be Mexican. Our country will be overcrowded, poor, trashy, and gang infested just like Los Angeles. It will be the United States of Mexico.

Wake up America! Our incompetent government is allowing this happen and nothing is going to stop it.
