HUMAN ACTIVITY, BY A FACTOR OF OVER 150 PERCENT!

Comparison of CO2 emissions from volcanoes vs. human activities.
Scientists have calculated that volcanoes emit between about 130-230 million tonnes (145-255 million tons) of CO2 into the atmosphere every year (Gerlach, 1999, 1992). This estimate includes both subaerial and submarine volcanoes, about in equal amounts. Emissions of CO2 by human activities, including fossil fuel burning, cement production, and gas flaring, amount to about 22 billion tonnes per year (24 billion tons) [ ( Marland, et al., 1998) - The reference gives the amount of released carbon (C), rather than CO2.]. Human activities release more than 150 times the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes--the equivalent of nearly 17,000 additional volcanoes like Kilauea (Kilauea emits about 13.2 million tonnes/year)!

it is NOT caused by humans
but rather by the planet itself
or by the sun

look over history and see that the temp goes in cycles
we just came out of a little ice age in the middle ages
so its gonna get warmer

I've read that website many times.

I can show you other studies that say quite the opposite.

Those volcanic emissions are considered very conservative as it's very hard to nail down an exact amount unless the weather conditions are perfect around the time of eruption.

An increase in CO2 will cause vegetation to increase and become more dense around the globe. The increase in size and density of vegetation will increase the absorption of CO2 and increase the amount of oxygen being released into the air.

Nature balances itself out.

5quid - the actuality which you have executed a sprint analyze into Mt Pinatubo's eruption makes it each and all of the greater astounding which you will misrepresent it so badly. The drop in temperature as a effect of Mt Pinatubo's eruption became by utilising no ability touching directly to CO2 output. Billions of lots of ash have been blown into the stratosphere. those produce a cloud like barrier for the sunlight greatest to a brief cooling. Your argument by utilising no ability adjustments any arguments with regards to greenhouse gasses and international warming.

add in the Oceans the forest fires and all the Animals. Stopping abruptly will kill more poor people than a global warming rate 200 times current estimates. Did you give up you medicine and home and car and heat yet?

So? It's not the CO2 that volcanoes emit that can cause a cooling effect. It's all that wonderful particulate matter.

By the way, you answered your own question.

Even if the amount was closer, the difference between the two is that we cannot stop volcanoes from erupting. This is an extremely weak premise.

others beat me to it. You are ignoring 90% of what is emitted from the volcanos.

Of course the statistic ignores the other gases that volcanoes dump into the air.

conservatives keep re-circulating that volcano myth, not realizing it's been discussed and debunked long ago.
