I have been with my Marine for 1 year, even before he decided to join the Marines, and now, we're planning to get married when he returns from SOI... I know the age of consent for the Marines is 18... but will that matter if we are legally married?

First of all let me say Don't knock it till you've tried it. Most of you people are giving your opinion on something you know absolutely nothing about. You've been brainwashed and fed lies from the US government and your parents since you were a kid, and I'm sure the majority of you still are. There's nothing that can't be made from hemp aka marijuana but like someone said before, it can't be taxed because it all started off as a racist law against minorities who used it to relax after a long day of work they were forced to do by the white man. When fights broke out they banned marijuana believing this was the root of their hostility. Same thing with the mexican workers that came into this country in the 1930's. See what I'm getting at? For 4 million years no human has ever been able to tell you what you can or cannot put into your system at your own free will until the 1930's or 40's. I think someone else pointed out that marijuana has more effects at curing ailments and diseases than any plant known to man but big greedy medical companies know that they'd lose alooooooooot of money if this plant was legalized. There are only 2 plants known to man that have all the necessary amino acids humans need: the first, wheat. The second, marijuana. We've used it before Jesus walked this earth for food, clothing, rope, and just to smoke for religious practices. Speaking of religion, if God put it here...why the HELL aren't we taking advantage of this all natural wonder-plant?? Sure other so called drugs were put here like cocaine, opium, barbituates, and stimulants but marijuana is the ONLY thing you can take right off the plant, dry and use. I think it's a ****** up system that we live in where people are actually listening to a government that's already been proven wrong since the start of this so called 'war on drugs'. There's gotta be something better to be worried about than what somebody's doing in the privacy of there own home...hey i know, what about this WAR ON TERROR. We have enough nuclear weapons on this planet to destroy this world 13 times over and we don't even know where the majority of these bombs are thanks to the BUSH ADMINISTRATION... it's all goin up in smoke! But that's a differen't story. All I'm saying is in my opinion marijuana is a blessing and not a curse. Do your homework, kids before you go and say something like " Smoking a joint is equal to smoking a pack of ciggaretts". Where the **** did you ever hear that? obviously someone that can't back it up. Haters! Speaking of health, sure, smoking anything isn't healthy but it's not even close to smoking cigarretts which are full of godknows what!! A vaporizer can be used which has been scientifically proven not to have ANY negative side effects. pure THC! This government will regulate out alcohol which makes you lose control of all motor skills and your thought process. This nation's major income comes from the tax on alcohol and cigarretts....hmmmmm, no wonder they don't ban those. TOO MUCH MONEY! and to think people actually listen to this government. One more thing I have to point out: I don't know if any of you has seen that one commercial where a scribbly drawn man is smoking a joint and his girlfriend tells him she doesn't like him doing that...so an alien comes and abducts her and steals her for his own. ..........uh........who's on drugs now? So if I am to smoke weed, are you saying that an alien will steal my gf? What the ****. I don't understand why if weed is so bad, why don't they just give you the facts about WHY it is bad instead of avoiding the truth or beating around the bush. I'm all for legalizing marijuana. I don't believe in any man telling me what or what I can't do with my own body or life. It's a ****** up world that we live in, man.

Thats grandstanding at its best. Saying that the Congress is taking away their funding for a war that should be over . How would Bush supporters react if those against the war did their press conferences in front of maimed and disabled combat veterans or even Iraqi children in the same condition ..

Since many of you thing we have this great power to reverse the temperature variance on a entire planet. Why can't we use this great power we have to stop or prevent floodings earthquake, hurricanes, tsuanmis, tornados these are basically local or reginal phonomenons so it wouldn't that be easier to do that than to tackle something that affects the entire globe?

Is the inalienable right to liberty predicated upon entering into a nonnegotiable contract with the government whereby you must provide a percentage of your resources to said government or risk incarceration? If so, how then can this be called an inalienable right? To be forced to continually purchase your freedom annually, seems to me a bit disingenuous in a “true democracy" formed by the rejection of such practice.

If 9/11 really was a conspiracy...

The Bush administration (or whoever co-ordinated the attacks) obviously has NO qualms about killing THOUSANDS of people to further their cause. I am not SURE, but I think the maia argument is that the Bush Administration planned the attack to put suspicion on Al Queda?

Anyway, please do not correct me, because that is not the point I am trying to make. The point is:

Why are the 9/11 conspiracy theorists still alive? If 9/11 was a planned job, killing THOUSANDS of US civilians, why not kill these guys? The 9/11 truth guy, all of these theorists. Wouldn't it have been easier to silence them when they first started revealing the "truth"??

Now, some people are going to obvioulsy say "Well, that would cast MORE suspicion on the planners". What, killing THOUSANDS of Americans didn't????

Well???

Today, New York may join the group of 20 states that are moving their primaries to 'Super Duper Duper Tuesday', February 5th, 2008. California has done the same. Florida is thinking about moving theirs to Jan 29th. Do you think that this front-loading of major primary states is good or bad for the electoral process? Why? If you think it's bad, what would be better?

In other words: should prostitution be legal (outside of Nevada)? Isn't it a question of "my body, my choice?" Also the constitutional right to made a contract without government interference? Or is there more to it: moral issues; health and safety, etc.? What do YOU think?

I'm not talking about voting out current Republican/Democrat fools only to be replaced by "new" Republican & Democrat fools. Clearly voting in "new" politicians from either party doesn't really change much & I think that's how Dems/GOP like it to be. As little competition as possible & a continuation of status quo.

Why not vote for a US Govt. the way the American founding fathers had always wanted it to be? Not what today's Dems & Republicans have mutated it into.

I have never agreed with Bush's strategy in Iraq - including his original decision to attack. I think he's a total idiot. That being said, I think the House Dems are not acting in the best interests of the country by playing politics and imposing a 2008 withdrawl deadline. In fact, I think it's damned unpatriotic.
