Since many of you thing we have this great power to reverse the temperature variance on a entire planet. Why can't we use this great power we have to stop or prevent floodings earthquake, hurricanes, tsuanmis, tornados these are basically local or reginal phonomenons so it wouldn't that be easier to do that than to tackle something that affects the entire globe?

Fine, do nothing and lets die out like the dinosaurs.
Its called self preservation. If you are so eager to be extinct, just end it for yourself now.

Actually, I recently read on a science news website that an earlier action has helped -- in that we'd be worse off now.
When we banned chemicals that were destroying the ozone layer, since they are also greenhouse gasses, that slowed global warming.
If we spewed much less of the greenhouse gasses into the air, the plankton and other plants' respiration would restore the balance in the atmosphere.
I read on the same site that scientists had thought that it would take 10 degrees more average planetary temperature increase to have a catastrophic effect on life.
Now they say 5 degrees would do it.
So, we know that ceasing to spew the wrong gunk DOES help; and failing to change will hurt sooner than earlier thought.
No, there's no way to stop or prevent earthquakes (or tsunamis, since they're caused by earthquakes) or hurricanes, or the rest of your list.
The death toll from the big Indian Ocean tsunami could have been less, if there'd been a warning system in place.
On the other hand -- few people seem to know this -- we stopped the death toll from being twice as big by getting water purification materials out to people, who then used them.
They had expected diseases from bad water to double the death toll -- didn't happen.
In short, there are things we can do, and things we can stop doing, and things we can't control, but can mitigate the effects of.
Since we're the cause of the gases that are causing global warming, we can fix it by not adding to it any more, while the planet can still heal from it.
We don't cause the Earth's plates to slide around, causing earthquakes, nor can we stop them from doing so. But we can build so buildings and other structures don't fall and kill people.
You have to look at what each phenomenon is before you can say "why don't we stop it from happening."

Let's say you were in a car, and you knew that somewhere ahead of you was a cliff. And that if you kept going forward, you would eventually run off the cliff.
Is there any reason to not at least slow down?
