I just got my Indefinite leave to remain. How long is that going to take to get my UK citizenship? Also I am a flight attendent, so I just go to the UK twice every month, is that going to affect my ability to obtain UK citizenship compare to other Indefinite leave to remain holders?

I am a former Marine who served in Viet Nam wondering how you feel about what your congress men/women (mostly Democrats) are saying about Pres. Bush's latest plan. Please share your thoughts--thank you, and thank you for standing tall and serving your nation.

PS...When I was fighting for this great country, in the 60's, I fully understood and supported being in Viet Nam.

If the next major tragedy or calamity to scar the Earth occurred close to your home, but you and your home were unaffected, would you allow victims of the event to inhabit your home with you till they got back on their feet?

If no, are there any circumstances you would allow such cohabitation?

Also if no, would you ask to cohabit another person's home if roles were reversed?

Also if no, if you would you refuse to accept a citizen of your own country, but allow a citizen of a different country? Which countries would you accept people from?

If yes, under what conditions? Would you draw up a list of rules, laws, or requirements that the visitors would have to live by? Would you make them pay money to live with you? If they didn't follow your rules, would you kick them out on the street?

Out of Barrack Obama, Hilary Clinton, and (sorry, I don't know the guy's name) The other guy running.

I personally think that Barrack Obama should be the next president, because he seems like a genuinely kind guy, and I think that he could make excellent decisions for our country.

I mean when republicans were completely in power they destroyed america's image around the world. logic would follow that to make good with most of the world again and gain their support, they would vote in a democrat this time to send a message that they do not support the policies of this president and his administration and want to move in a newer more positive direction. however if they do vote in another republican, then they are effectively saying bush and republican policies are fully supported.

I recall one of my teachers bringing this up back in the day after reading the Heinlen book, "Starship Troopers". And even if your everyday Congressman isn't isn't required to be in the military, at the least shouldn't a position such as the Secretary of Defense carry such a requirement......

PHOENIX -- Authorities are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found in the desert.

Phoenix police said they received a call from Maricopa County sheriff's deputies who were flagged down by a witness in the area.

The witness told deputies he had found a pair of bodies in the desert area at 91st Avenue between Baseline Road and Southern Avenue. Officers said the bodies appeared to be those of two Hispanic men in their 20s.

Police said they are investigating the case as a homicide and detectives are working on the investigation.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is also assisting, indicating the two victims may be illegal immigrants.

This law (currently a bill in my state) allows people to use deadly force against intruders in the home. So for example, if you are sleeping, and someone breaks your window and enters, and then threatens you with a gun or a knife, you are allowed to use deadly force.

The good thing is that it changes the current law shich restricts you to running away in the event of danger.

The bad thing is that in some states, like Florida, there have been some shootings that have used this law as a defense.

Any examples of why you feel the way that you do (real life stories) would be greatly appreciated.
