Just a quick example. Working stiff, buddy wants to paint and do small plumbing jobs for a slum-lord in town. Just handy-man work. Basic stuff. Slum-lord, won't put him on the payroll because the guy is not licensed, certified, and or carry workmans comp insurance. C,mon, it freaking painting and clean-up work... Well, look around at all the guys, collecting SSI nowadays. Heres your reason: LAWYERS and LEGALITIES! No common sense in law!

Judge Jones is hearing a motion to order release of substance abuse records pursuant to a subpoena. The hearing...

A. Must be in open court because the records were subpoenaed.
B. May be in open court at the discretion of the judge.
C. Must be heard in chambers and sealed from public scrutiny.
D. May be heard in chambers if the motion so requested.

Information about a law proposed in Maryland (from the Baltimore Sun):

"Under Jewish law, a man must grant his wife a divorce degree, or get, to end a marriage. Without it, a Jewish woman is unable to remarry within the faith...If passed, the measure - up for hearings this week in House and Senate committees in Annapolis - would require those filing for divorce or not contesting one to also file an affidavit stating that they had removed all religious barriers to remarriage within their power."

Is this a violation of the separation between church and state? Is this a good idea?

I've heard some 18 year olds protesting that they cant drink but they are old enough for war. And i wonder how many 18 year olds die to alcohol as apposed to how many 18 year olds die in war.

have a collection of $2 bills old $1's and a couple of 5's. Are they valuable or will they be valuable?? Where can I find out

the $2's = mostly 1976 green serial numbering (1) red serial numbering. One bill has a the city date circle embel stamped on it

People are living longer, and yet pensions are being reduced, standards of care for the elderly in residential homes are poor, and the over 60's are one of the most vulnerable groups in society and also one the most ignored and abused. Maybe we have 30, 40 or 50 years before we reach that age, but shouldn't we start now to make sure that in our latter years, we have a decent standard of life? After all, the powers that be have already secured their future, its the working Man and Woman that's at risk (like always) and to get "them" to do anything that benefits us has always been a long hard struggle. Don't we as the younger generation need to start fighting now to safeguard our future, and also make sure that our children have a good life when they get old?
