would democrats accept a few people from those 7000 into their homes? do they think their lifestyle will be unaffected or influenced by it? you could almost guarantee the wife of the house will start putting a headscarf on, and not because she honestly wants to. theyre willing to accept those 7000, as long as its not in their own backyards, right?

It seems to me that the people who are in favor of the war should be the FIRST to accept Iraqi refugees into their homes, but I doubt that will happen either. However, I'm a liberal and I've already written all my representatives stating in no uncertain terms that accepting these most vulnerable of the refugees (a mere 7000, out of 2 MILLION we've helped displace) is one of the first things Bush has done that I fully support. What have *you* done?

If you're so concerned about immigrants asimilating, volunteer to teach some English, they are dying to learn and nonprofits are strapped for volunteers to teach them.
