Dear friends, Right now a tragedy is unfolding in the Middle East. Thousands of innocent civilians have been killed or wounded in the bombings in Lebanon, Palestine and Israel and the death toll is rising every day. If the US, Syria or Iran get involved, there is a chance of a catastrophic larger war. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has called for an immediate ceasefire and the deployment of international troops to the Israel-Lebanon border, and been strongly supported by almost every world leader. This is the best proposal yet to stop the violence, but the US, the UK, and Israel have refused to accept it. I have just signed a petition calling on US President Bush, UK Prime Minister Blair, and Israeli Prime Minister Olmert to support Kofi Annan's proposal. If millions of people join this call, and we advertise our views in newspapers in the US, UK, and Israel, we can help pressure these leaders to stop the fighting. Go to the link below and sign up now! http://www.ceasefirecampaign.org With hope,

Even for someone totally neutral on the war in Iraq, it would be hard to imagine cutting and running. No matter your feelings, if you are involved in an auto accident, you are required to stop and render aid. I consider our involvement in Iraq analogous to an auto accident. Not just assigning blame, but just trying to see how we can help the injured.

Ted Kennedy and Hanoi John Kerry to the US Senate. From the Boston Herald.

Lawmakers have slammed the classroom door shut on Massachusetts soldiers home from Iraq and seeking to go to state college, failing to cough up $8 million needed for crucial tuition waivers.

Army and Air National Guard soldiers expecting to be rewarded for their war duty under Gov. Mitt Romney’s “Welcome Home” bill found the welcome mat ripped out last week by the Legislature as it ended its formal session without approving money for the waivers.

Lashing out at the “wrong priorities” of lawmakers, Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey said, “The Legislature has made the appalling decision to vote on things like tuition breaks for illegal immigrants, but they couldn’t take the time to take a vote to help our Massachusetts war heroes…I find it deeply disturbing.”

National Guard officials say the bureaucratic red tape has left some soldiers scrambling to meet tuition costs.

Providing handouts like free tuition to Illegal Immigrants does nothing more than serve as a magnet and invitation for more illegal activity. Providing free tuition to those who are not even LEGAL residents in the country, and denying the same benefits to US Citizens who live in a neighboring state is ludicrous.. Providing those benefits to illegals while at the same time Denying them to those who wear the nations uniform is outrageous.

Here is some contact info for the Massachusetts House of Representatives, & Senate, Just in Case anyone wanted to let them know where their priorities should be.

Some of the Schools will be honoring the tuition Waivers.

At Framingham State College, where 17 National Guard members enrolled last year, administrators said they plan to honor the fee waiver and petition the Board of Higher Education for reimbursement.

A UMass-Boston spokesman said the school will continue to honor the tuition waiver for veterans, and advocate for better benefits for soldiers.

And some are not…

“We have to comply with what the legislation says and we’re in the process of trying to figure that out,” said Brian Baldwin, a Bridgewater State College spokesman.

The American people run this country and it is about time these elected officials get some stern warnings from the citizens that put them in office in the first place.

President Bush as been quoted as saying his proudest moment as President was when he caught a 75 pound fish in his lake. No real question here - just thought I'd let you guys know how dumb this man is.

You remember the old stars of the silver screen fighting overseas? And what about those who entertained the troops?

Why not let the stars of today go over to Iraq and put their entertaining talents to positive use? After all, Marilyn Monroe was willing to do it, and we have some that still do.

Imagine it pouring, it's raining down on us
Mosh pits outside the oval office
Someone's tryina tell us something,
Maybe this is God just sayin' we're responsible
For this monster, this coward,
That we have empowered
This is Bin Laden, look at his head noddin'
How could we allow something like this without pumping our fists
Now this is our final hour
Let me be the voice in your strength and your choice
Let me simplify the rhyme just to amplify the noise
Try to amplify the times it, and multiply by six...
Teen million people, Are equal at this high pitch
Maybe we can reach alqueda through my speech
Let the president answer a higher anarchy
Strap him with an Ak-47, let him go, fight his own war
Let him impress daddy that way
No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil
No more psychological warfare, to trick us to thinking that we ain't loyal
If we don't serve our own country, we're patronizing a hero
Look in his eyes its all lies

I have seen and heard of many corrupt cops, especially the community where I live at. Some are criminals, some are racist, and some are disrespectful. One time a police officer attacked an old woman with his taser because she wouldn't cooperate with him. She was hospitalized. Another time, live on the news in St. Louis, after a car chase involving a black male, 6 or 7 police officers beat him down after arresting him. The news chopper caught it all on tape. One police officer, a black one, even noticed the chopper and stopped attacking the suspect as soon as he noticed he was on TV. And, back in highschool, cops constantly harassed us. They saw someone like me, a smart young black male heading off to college, as a criminal. Even at court houses, you could see a whole line of black people trying to pay their tickets, but never see any white people. I also live next door to drug dealers who pay cops to get off their backs. Police corruption seems to be popping up everwhere.
