If Israel can get the international community to actually enforce this new resolution, then it will be a victory for Israel -- and indirectly for the US. The international force and the Lebanese army will have a duty to disarm all unauthorized groups in southern Lebanon, they will have a duty to shut the borders and prevent arms shipments, and these useless UN forces and the Lebanese army will have the job of killing Hezbollah. Most importantly for the US's interests, it prohibits other nations (like Iran and Syria) from sending any arms or equipment into Lebanon without Lebanese government approval. Israel would benefit from having a prosperous, stable, democracy to its immediate north -- as its relatively decent relations with Turkey indicate. The U.S. will benefit from having another set of Security Council resolutions that the Iranians are going to want very much to break; breaking this one, though, with a unanimous vote in the UNSC, will be a much more damning act in the eyes of the world than its current nuclear activities. It tightens the noose on the loonies running Iran, and it makes an international guarantee of Lebanon's independence from Syria. Hezbollah becomes either a non-factor or the flash-point that gets Damascus or Tehran deservedly cruise-missiled. If the resolution is enforced as it is written, Israel doesn't need to kill every last member of Hezbollah to count this as a clear win.

Because if your answer to every conflict is to wipe out the enemy via violence, then our world would be gone long ago.
Hezbollah dont wear a shirt that say who they are. If you're gonna go in killing who you think are Hezbollah, you're asking to make unncessary enemies. And do not ignore the possible attempts for revenge by their children.
If someone suggests killing their children too then go get some help. They havn't done anything yet and punishing them for something they havn't done is illogical. It's like Minority Report.
And currently, Israel may have superior power but that doesn't mean they always will. Negotiations should always be considered first.

Israel should have demanded the UN guarantee their safety. Once again words on paper will show no value. The future will show how futile the whole UN thing has been.

They shouldn't. They should keep pushing until every last thug is gone. Stopping will only give the scumbags a chance to regroup and recruit with their propaganda (helped by the lib media and it's doctored pics).
