That health care is a right? That the government should provide for all rather than provide opportunity? That welfare is a right? That prescription drugs are a right? That there should be a minimum wage? That an income tax is legal? I can't find mention for any of those anywhere in the text

you forgot the "Separation of Church and State" clause. I can't seem to find that one either.

I know that it says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Hrmm. Notice that- congress shall not "prohibit"? Why can't we mention Christmas in public schools?

The right to health care? Could it fall into that little clause in the Constitution ". . .And among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." ? You can't live if you have no health care.

The Constitution, like any other document, law or book (the Bible, a perfect example) written, is open to interpratation. They discuss taxes, because there wouldn't be that little thing "taxation without representation". So you can be taxed as long as you are represented in the government (senator, representative, etc). So income taxing becomes legal. The other things you state? These are programs, and not "rights". But do I feel that a drug company should charge an elderly person on a fixed income $200.00 for a months supply of pills they need to live? No. Drug companies are as bad as the oil companies - people need the stuff, let's jack up the price and make billions. And what IF there was no minimum wage? I can tell you that your salary you are making wouldn't exist. Why pay someone $12 per hour, when I don't have to start them at $6.50? I could start someone at $3.00 per hour, so "skilled" labor can start at $6.00 per hour. More people would be living in poverty. So how is that something you want to complain about?

The Constitution was meant as a document to evolve. It has to, because times change. You'll notice by the clothing you wear and the modes of transportation differences available now as opposed to then. So your grievances, though well pointed out, are mute. If things didn't change and grow, we wouldn't be "chatting" on the internet, now would we???

In case you didn't notice, the Constitution doesn't stay the same. It is constantly growing and expanding to accomodate the needs of our citizens and government.
Things like public housing, food stamps welfare are NOT a right but a temporary solution to a need for low income families. You're right,it doesn't say it anywhere in the Constitution. Those things were meant to be TEMPORARY,but there are those who abuse the system and make it a multi -generation thing of staying on welfare. Also, where do you think funding for basic services like police, fire and emergency medical services comes from? TAXES! Yes, I'd like to see some sort of health care and prescription drug program provided and paid for by Uncle Sam,but as long as the drug and insurance companies have lobbyists pushing for political support while the public keeps it's mouth shut, nothing will change.

Well, everyone has a right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".
The Constitution is a guide for the framework of the government with a special eye to rights that cannot be impinged upon. It's up to the people to decide the other issues, and luckily, the American people believe that children have a right to eat, the eldery have a right to their blood pressure medication, that citizens have the right to a living wage. And by the way - the 16th Amendment says that "Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes on incomes".

The Constitution doesn't have to say things specifically about health care, welfare, prescription drugs, or minimum wage in order for Congress to pass laws addressing all of these things. In general, the delegation of power to Congress that it can regulate "commerce among the states," has been interpreted to mean that Congress can pass any laws which would affect the national economy.

you should read it. It is there. If you were more informed on issues you would know where it is there.
Also can you give me just one example of legislation that has passed Congress in the past 6 years that helps the working class?
Just one will be fine.
Also check out what is Godly. that's in the Bible. Matthew 26:11, Amos 2:6, Ezekiel 22:29, Luke 16:14 and 20:47 and 10:30-37, Galatians 2:7-10, Acts 11:28-30 etc..

Where in the Constitution does it say that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law? I can't seem to find it anywhere...

As for the income tax thing, you obviously didn't read the Constitution very thoroughly. Read the sixteenth amendment.

If you are to take a position that any rights or responsibilities must be in constitution; otherwise it is invalid, then, almost all of our laws are invalid.

Constitution is a framework of what we are. It was never meant to be an instructions manual. All other laws are created according to the frameworks provided by the constitution.

A brief study in American history will explain you better than I can in this small space.

Nope! Not in there! Guess you have to earn these things instead of the government handing everything to you!
