It is nothing I would look forward to, but it seems inevitable because nations will become tired of dealing with all the global problems (ie terrorists, nature, oil prices, commerce, etc) and will figure that they need to consolidate leadership to be more effective.

A global government can be a good thing if and only if we get to a point where this government and the people in it can put aside their own self interest and govern the world fairly.

As things are now, everyone is too selfish to perform this task. Just look at how the United Nations is always so slow to get anything done. It's a noble attempt to reach an ideal, but it's got a long way to go.

Until we are ready for a global governing body, any attempts to create one will fail, and may do so with a lot of bloodshed.

I am only answering whether a "one world" government make sense at the moment; I have no comment for the book of Revelation.

And what government would you make it? A democracy? We see how well that is doing right now in Iraq. . .

The same form of government will not work for every place in the world. Why? Some allow their religion to run their governments and countries, and some are more democratic and open. I don't know what would happen other than a dictatorship.

I don't see it really being something that would benefit all. But that's me.

We most certainly will have a one world government. And it will seem to make perfect sense.
