I feel like my horse and I aren't bonding well over the last year. I'd like to show his next year and I think in order to finish him I need a special bond with him and be able to become more aware of his feelings. What is the best way to go about this without him walking all over me?

our cat is 6 years old, and no body in this area will take him. we're moving from military housing... there was no pet deposit, and we'd planned on staying here. he had to get out at the last minute. this whole situation is unexpected, and the only place we can afford doesn't allow pets. we have had this cat for a while, and are attached, but keeping him is impossible. any suggestions? keeping him really cant happen, and i'm sorry to any animal rights activists i'm offending, but i'm a full time student going into dental school, and my husband will be working full time and going for his BA. are there cat shelters? or places that don't euthenise? please help!

I have a friend, whose mom also happens to be one of my teachers, and they own several animals.. which are all very poorly cared for. Most notably (and it bothers me a great deal), they have two male Golden Retrievers... about 8 months old... who are literally kept locked up in their crates 95% of the day and night... usually having to sit in their own feces for hours. Both friend and teacher are oblivious to the fact that their house stinks horribly, and they both think that there's nothing wrong with how they treat those dogs. They also have two cats, who are usually ignored and use the house as their "litterbox", and two rabbits that live in filthy cages that are cleaned maybe once a month at the most. At total risk of ruining a friendship, and having a grade mysteriously drop itself... is this situation something I should report to my local ASPCA?

On three separate occasions, I've installed a cat door on an interior door. Each time, my dog rips out the cat door and chews the door, in an effort to gain entrance to the room on other side of the door.

The door goes from the master bedroom, to the bathroom (and then there's another door from the bathroom to the hallway). The cat sleeps in the master bedroom, and I want him to have access to his litter box, which is in the basement. Any ideas?

I've thought about installing a solid door, instead of a hollow one; I'm afraid my 97 lb German Shepherd will just chew through that as well.

Maybe another kind of cat door, other than the ones I purchase at Petco? Help!

My pony has started extending but will do it for one or two leads only at B or E and then continues with an extremely fast trot. I have my inside leg behind the girth and my outside leg back further. We are past the stage of him getting the aide confused with the canter. How can I continuously have him extend trot. My aide is obviously nearly right but what else will keep him continuing the extension.

People w/ experience in Dressage riding and extended trot only thank-you.

I have a cat that is 17 yrs old- he'll be 18 in Feb. He has had kidney disease for approx 6 years, but until recently has been stable. He has recently lost weight, and is often dehydrated and needs IV's of fluid to re-hydrate. There is no cure, and he'll only get worse, never better. The treatments work temporarily, but need to be ongoing- and they stress him, & me. His quality of life stinks- he sleeps 22 hrs a day, and I am considering having him put to sleep- and the vet supports this. But I feel so so so guilty- should I let nature take its course, or "help" him thru the misery?

For the past like month or two, my ferret has been occasionally, i guess, coughing. At first it was maybe a few very minor coughs maybe two or three times every other week. Now, the coughing fits he's having are pretty bad, and last anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 min or so. I'm really worried about him, but I need to know if I should take him to the vet because I'm pretty short on money right now. He's also a Marshall Farms ferret, and I know those ferrets tend to have health issues. Another thing that has me concerned is he's become very mellow. He's only 9 months old, and should still be just as hyper as he was a month ago. He eats fine, for the most part, and always has water and a clean litter box (i try to keep up with it...my kitten decided she's going to use it now too x_x). He has freerange of a small "playroom" for the pets, nothing really that he could eat and harm himself with, so I'm very concerned, but also tight on money as well...WHAT SHOULD I DO??? HELP ME!?

Could this urge to give love to an adoptable pet be due to a tubal ligation? I find this to be very odd behavior. I am not a pet hoarder. I just love pets!! Should I seek psychiatric help or take medications? I talked to my doctor about this and her response was, "you are just a nice person." I'm confused...I didn't think this was a normal response.
