I need help choosing the perfect pet. I can't have anything that doesn't live in a cage. I like rodents and stuff (No birds, reptiles, fish). What could be good for me?

I don't want gerbils,dwarf hamsters,guinea pigs, or ferrets.

Don't say I don't know, or I like these ya lil point snatchers!

Why would you want to be like her? Why would you want to be subject to a trend like carrying a little dog around started by The Queen of Skank, Paris Hilton? Was it when BritBrit got BitBit that you decided that “Yes! I need an itty bitty doggie to dress up and drag around!”.Perhaps you don’t think that she look's silly, but you do. Let’s look at history. Would these people have been taken seriously if they were carrying around a dog in their hand bags? Do you think God would have chosen the Virgin Mary to give birth to Jesus if she was carrying around a tiny dog? I’m sorry, but it would have been pretty hard to take Hitler seriously if a doggie was munching on his mustache. I doubt the Mona Lisa would have been such a big deal if she had Tinkerbell in her lap. And why would you want to dress like her? wooo lets all go around in mini skirts with our boobies popping out of our tops. Comon everyone don't be a skank like Paris! get your own style. And please leave the poor animals alone.

I'm into more smallish type animals (Like rodents and stuff). I want something the can be kept in a cage (Big or small. Doesn't matter), and it has to be some-what social. I tried out gerbils and dwarf hamsters (I've had 3 dwarfs and 2 gerbils). What else should I look into getting?

Please give me info sites on your suggestions.

After more than a month, the female is finally pregnant. I figured I should remove the father and put him with my other males, but neither he nor the female took very well to that. He was aggressive with the other males, and she was acting very anxious and edgy. They both were, actually. Once back together, they both calmed back down. They sleep side by side, share their food, run in the wheel together, etc. The male even made a nest for the two of them, where one or both of them is often camping out.

She has not given birth yet (she's about 1/2 thru the pregnancy), but he has become very protective. When I reach my hand in the cage, the male puts himself between my hand and the female--and attacks my hand (he used to be the cuddly one). He acts very possessive.

Should I just leave him in there with her? He attacks the other males when I try to put him in their cage, and both he and the female are MUCH calmer when together...

but will he turn on his kids? What should I expect

I stepped on a spider, well it was dark and when I looked down to make sure that I didn’t have it still on my shoe, I noticed that it wasn’t on my shoe but there was a lot of fuzziness on my shoe. So I turned on the light and looked, there were thousands of baby spiders on my shoe and I looked down at the dead spider and thousands of baby spiders were walking away from the mothers body. She was carrying her babies on her back or stomach. So my question is what kind of spider does that? I wasn't able to tell what it was because she was squished. Mind you I live in west central Illinois..Thanks

Sorry if this isn't in the right category, not sure where to put it.

I want to purchase a horse and have 2 acres of property. The township I live in is not restrictive as to pets/livestock; however, the individual I purchased my property from (on which I had a house built) for some reason added a covenant restricting the keeping or breeding of livestock. Is there a way around this? There are others on my street who maintain horses. Are horses considered livestock or pets? I will not be breeding the horse - it will be kept solely as a pet for pleasure riding.
