i have two cottontail bunny rabbits, they are about a month or so old. they are getting a little wild and rambuncious and one is not even getting used to hands yet. when will this phase go away? do they get calmer and easer to handle as they grow older? i really want to keep these two as pets but if they are going to be this wild then i may have to let them go. do you have a cottontail rabbit? how does yours act?

Yesterday morning a scab on my guinea pig's foot tore and it started bleeding terribly. I was so scared and since it was Sunday the vet was closed. I used cornstarch and applied pressure. Fortunately it clotted and today he's doing a lot better. I took the wire floor out of his cage which probably caused his scab to begin with so now he has a soft surface to walk on. He's overall healthy but there is still a sore on his foot. Is there anything else I can do to help heal his sore faster? I'm afraid of applying a bandage because he could bite it off ripping his scab and if I put ointment on it he could lick it off and ingest it.

Please help.........

Spooky-boo, my FAVORITE hamster (out of five) had an attachment on her cage. The attatchment has a crack on it and splits in half to that you can clean it easily. Somehow, Spooky-boo found a way to squeeze out of her attatchment. We looked around. We think we have found squashed hammy poo on our backdoor steps (there are only 2 steps) we searched a couple of miutes ago, (aronud 10:20 p.m USA time) And found a wet, fresh spot of pee (about what a hamster would pee) under a couch cushin. We are sure we didn't squash him, becuase he would have squeaked. We set out catfood (her favorite food) out all over the carpet. Can you give me some ideas of places to search, what else i can do (We already have safe (non-killing) special hamster traps out) And how long can a dwarf go with out food/water?

Please help...........I miss her dearly. She has only been missing a couple of hours.!

Please read all of this and tell me if you agree:
Animal testing has got to be stopped. 500 million animals die per year due to animal testing. Why are we testing on innocent creatures who don't deserve it? There are plenty of other ways, such as coloning human skin. Animal skin is so much different from human skin anyway! And with our technology, surely, we can find different ways to test then testing on animals.
Quoted from Animal Xp: "Deaths through research are absoloutely unnesessary..."
It is crazy how we put animals in cages, sometimes only to be used for their skin.
Animal testing is wrong, and needs to be stopped, before things get out of hand.

I took my son to school this morning & when I got back there was a crawdad crawling into my gargae. I scooped it up w/2 bowls and put it into a gallon bucket container w/ about an inch of water so I could show my 8 yr.old when he got home from school. He was very excited! But, then asked me why there was so many little bugs in there swimming around, so right as soon as he said that I was thinking Great it had babies! YEAP- it sure did 20+ ! So I moved them to a Bigger container b/c some of them were dead floating around in the couple inches of water. I put a rock in there as well- and I just need to know what exactly it is we need to do now?? Please Help???? Thanks LD

Dogs and cats are just as edible as your beef, chicken, and pork. Besides, other cultures also eat bats, snakes, mice, and frogs, but no one seems to be complaining about that. How unfair.

Ok guys... simple survey question. If you could have any exotic animal for a pet what would it be and why? My exotic pet would definetly be a white tiger... they are so rare and beautiful, i love white tigers, especially the ones with blue eyes. in a way they remind me of christ and the cross. they have so many stripes like the ones christ took for us... then they are so white.... white as snow, like we are when we enter the kingdom of God. but i cant get over how gentle these creatures can be, yet they can also be fierce, that characteristic they never lose. so what's your exotic animal? a parrot? a dolphin? a chupacabra?! lol... tell me what YOU think......

I woke up this morning to find one of my hermit crabs had changed shells overnight. I've only had them for a few months and this is the first time one of them has changed shells.

Is there anything special care (besides the usual misting, feeding, etc) I should give my crab now that he has moved in to his new home? Should I get rid of the old shell? There is another (slightly larger) crab in the tank - I know they like to be in groups, but will the new-shell crab feel threatened? (I do have a plastic separator to put in the tank if needed)

Thanks in advance!!

It has to have a fence in it (with the horse in the fence) and it has to have a forest outside of the fence. See, I have this poem that I wrote to it and now I can't find it. The thing is, I need the picture with it for class.
If you guys find any, that'd be great. Thanks!

My sister and I have a dream to open an Animal Sanctuary , We want this to become a reality. Anyone out there have ideas how we can do this . We do not have the funds , but we have the knowledge and the hearts that it would take. If you know of anyone who is willing to help us financially. This must be a legitimate source. We are very serious, we just do not have the money to get it started. It would be a nonprofit type of venture. We want to help the wildlife , also help autistic children relate to animals . It would be a twofold Endeaver. We are thinking of putting the children with riding and spending time with horses to get them to open up and brighten their lives, in hopes of making a difference to these kids. We also want to give wild animals a chance to survive better. We would seperate the two, in different parts of the land we hope to acquire. We are thinking a minimum of 25 to 100 acres. Any one with valid ideas, or sources please let us know. I can give you my email address
