Please help.........
Spooky-boo, my FAVORITE hamster (out of five) had an attachment on her cage. The attatchment has a crack on it and splits in half to that you can clean it easily. Somehow, Spooky-boo found a way to squeeze out of her attatchment. We looked around. We think we have found squashed hammy poo on our backdoor steps (there are only 2 steps) we searched a couple of miutes ago, (aronud 10:20 p.m USA time) And found a wet, fresh spot of pee (about what a hamster would pee) under a couch cushin. We are sure we didn't squash him, becuase he would have squeaked. We set out catfood (her favorite food) out all over the carpet. Can you give me some ideas of places to search, what else i can do (We already have safe (non-killing) special hamster traps out) And how long can a dwarf go with out food/water?
Please help...........I miss her dearly. She has only been missing a couple of hours.!

look behind the fridge, they are often there - dont move it though because u could squish him. also check the stove. have some broccoli or other fresh food with u to lure him in case he's there. put a bucket out with books or something leading up to it so he can crawl to the edge. make a trail of food on the books, just a tiny bit, leading up the books and then put broccoli (no water) in the bottom of the bucket he'll fall in and be trapped and waiting for u. a small trash can or anything not too tall with smooth sides works. since u r home u make sure his cage is on the floor open and he may sneak in for food and u can catch him. if u see him but cant grab him u might put a trash can or something like that in front of him so he'll run in it or his ball if u have one. he'll come out late at night hungry if u dont find him today. look & listen for him. careful of doors and make sure there's no way outside--like where the washer or sink is. watch for him near doorways.
he wont starve that quickly & as i said he'll be out looking for food tonight. dont put food everywhere cuz u wanna draw him to 1 spot.

By leaving flour across door ways and other such places you'll be able to see if she's left/entered any rooms.
Plastic bags, the cheap grocery store ones, placed in corners, under chairs and so forth will crinkle as she moves through them suggesting where she could be.
Leave as many paper tubes, hide spots and safe places around the hosue as possible. She may sneak into one, descide it's worth taking a nap in and be found.
Best of luck.

Well. A dwarf hamster can go with out food for a long time. But don't worry. Keep doing what you are doing and listen for noises. Like squeeks or other noices hamsters make. I have and have had many many hamsters and they all got loose. I know it hurts. Just stay happy and keep looking.

My daughter's hamster escaped once and we just waited. The third night she crawled into bed with me to get warm! Just be sure you keep the cat or dog in isolation or you won't have a happy ending!

My hamster got lost several times. But this is what I'd always do. Shut everything off. Till there was slience and somewhow i'd always hear him chewing or walking. Although sometimes it mightive taken several days to find him. It always worked.

my sisters best friend had the same problem, her hamster hopped through a hole in the wall, and then was found hours later scratching through the walls of the house...
So check your walls and listen carefully
