Good work ethics and study habits will go a long way to impressing your teacher of course but you should also make sure your teacher gets to know you.

If you have any specific learning problems or bad study habits, talk to your teacher about them. If you're left handed let the teacher know that, if you have trouble concentrating, hearing, seeing, let them know that too. Every conversation you have with your teacher that lets them know you really want to do well will help to reinforce that with them so if they see you falling behind, they'll know that you'll want help.

I've worked in education for many years and I recently saw a study that surprised me. I have it in paper form but can't find it online. It states that there is a relationship between marks given and a students appearance. If you're clean and neat, a teacher subconsciously sees you as a harder worker and it improves your chances of getting better marks. Unfair but it's worth remembering.

Good luck :) The fact that you want to do well is a great start.
