We have a keeshond puppy, born in January '07. The first few nights when we got her (a month ago), she woke a couple of times a night. We took her out to do her business and put her right back in the crate. Then she started sleeping through until 5:30am - ish, which was great (since it wasn't every two hours). But, now she's still waking up at 5am, which is miserable. We take up her food an water around 7pm, play with her until she's tired in the evening, watch some TV and put her to bed when we go to bed, around 11pm. But, even when we keep up up until midnight, or put her to bed at 10pm ... it's the same story ... up at 5am. *yawn* She's in an area that doesn't get morning sun, we've recently made that switch to see if darkness would help. Any advice for us?

My puppy (shih tzu/peke mix) is 6 month old male, we've had him since he was about 10weeks. Good behavior, gets on well with the other dogs he meets on the street when we walk him.
My neighbors just got a Westie male puppy, 6 months also, but he's only been here for about a week, very friendly. We figure our pup might be a bit territorial. And he is, especially around me. That being said, they've began 'playing' with each other now. But should I worry that while the westie is always wagging his tail and friendly about it, my pup is slightly more aggressive?
Is there anyway to help them get along? Will it help if they met on neutral territory (out in the park/street)?

What are your thought on breeding? (any animal)

I think it is OK if you breed purebred animals because they are easy to home. But I do not agree with breeding crossbreeds because it just adds to the overpopulation of homeless mutts in Rescues.

Your thoughts?
