had a pitbull when i was a child and people always told my parents that they were crazy for having that kind of dogs around me....now i am a father of 13 year old teenager and we have a jack russel..our terrier doesn't like to play wiyh her that much,but if some stranger aproach to my daughter our terrier will be very protective....when i was a child i dont remember any incidents with the pitbull...what cause the breed to act that way....

I have heard that having a dog chipped can be dangerous - the chip can move and lodgein blood vessles or even in or near the heart/brain - has anyone any experience of this, please?

I have a 5month old boy cat and everytime someone comes to visit he always spits at them and hisses is this normal behavior or is he being protective. Its kind of cute.

I really want a puppy!! need to find a breed that is good with other dogs, is friendly, and can live outside. and of course has to be cute, thats a given!lol. but i really like siberian huskys with blue eyes, but are they hard to handle, and are they usually friendly?? i also need some advise on how to get my mom to let me get a puppy. we're moving soon and she's marrying a vet, so i think that helps. thanx a bunch!!!!

I have a golden retriver mix, i think with chow , 4 years old, neutered. I rescude him from the pound almost a year ago so i dont know his history. When i got him he was pretty good with other dogs in the park. he didnt realy play with them, just kept trying to hump them. I yell no and he stops. Then few month ago i rescued a puppy and he changed. when we walk on the leash and he sees any dogs he goes crazy, becomes very aggressive. in the parks he got in few fights. he growls right away when other dogs aproach him. my fix for now is having him muzzled when he is in the park. he still growls but cant hurt anyone. I did 2 6 weeks obidience training and nothing really helped. he has no problem with the new puppy or any human. very friendly and easily submits to even a child. any ideas? thanks

The puppy was born may 1. The vet said right after the new year, but I was wondering if that's too long or too short. Our dog will be roughly 25lbs at maturity. I would appreciate advice.

Like I said I rescued her. She was a mess when I got her full of fleas and eating cheap dog food. I have changed her food, so I realize that might be hurting her, however, I was gone for 2 hours and she peed three times and pooed! What the heck is going on? Plus I believe she is supposedly house trained and crate trained. she responds to the scolding. What now? Is it nerves?

I have 2 small (1 inch long) gold fish in an 20 gallon fish tank, i usualy have my music really REALLY loud and i was wondering if this hurt my goldfish in anyway, i heard once that goldfish dident have any nerves so if this is true, would the sound vibrations confuse the fish instead of hurt them?

I've had my 5 month old Pointer mix for 1 week. She is still very timid and shy. At times she comes out of her shell and is very "normal" but she soon regresses to being scared of everything. I got her from a rescue that raised her from birth so I know she wasn't abused. Is this normal and if so how long will this last?

She was totally bound up. The vet had to give her 4 enimas and I don't know how many stool softners to get things moving again. He told me that constipation was common among manx cats. I am to sprinkel metimucial on her food daily. Has anyone had any similar problems with their manx? Any ideas on treatment?
