There are many different views on when it is best to spay or neuter your pet. 5 vets will give you 5 different answers. In general, it does not harm them to do it when they are younger, most vets prefer to wait due to the increased risks of putting a very young animal under anesthesia. I always had all of my pets done when they were around 4-5 months old. Before their first heat cycle but not too terribly young. None of them had any problems and healed within a week or two.

depending on the vet puppies can be spayed any where from 8 weeks to adult hood. the longer a dog goes without being spayed or neutered the higher chances of cancer. i had my puppy done at 10 weeks, a lot of vets don't like to do them that young only because every thing inside is real tiny you need really small hands and fingers to do the spaying this young. males are different you should wait until there testicle's drop before neutering

At 5-6 months.
She does not need to go through a heat to be sapyed and if you have her done before her first heat it will lower her riask of cancer. Most vets will spay anytine around 5 months or so.

The vet association states 8 to 16 weeks but a vet will be able to make the best medical judgment based on each individual dog.

8 to 10 months is the window for getting a puppy spayed. Any earlier could cause unnessary trauma to the pup. I waited a year after my pup was born before I nutered him. Spaying a female pup will be harder on her due to the type of surgery and the recovery time. Keep her quiet for 2 to 3 days then limt her activity for the next 3 to 4 weeks. Check the stitches and look for oozing and seaping of blood. There will be a little, dont worry. Keep the wound clean and dry and all should be ok.

the best time would be anytime now ( 5 months old). I made a mistake can got my dog spayed when she was 9 months old. It was very painful for her and it took about 10 days to heal. I friend of mine just of his dog spayed at months and the dog was at the park running around as if nothing happened exactly after 3 days.
Good Luck!!!

6 months or sooner. Some vets do what is called pediatric spay/neuter which is done before 6 months of age. Call around and find out who does it.

You should have your puppy spayed between 4 - 6 months of age. That way you don't have to worry about her coming into heat.
