Hi (This is Rob's wife Anne)

Yes my first German Shepherd Dog, came back 24 hours later, she always used to run up the stairs and her dew claws used to clip the window sill when she looked out of the window, 24 hours after she was put to sleep, my father and myself heard her do this.

I used to work with my father, and in the mornings my GSD Kelly used to jump off my bed onto the floor and lay there until my mother got up, after she died, my mother for a month afterwards used to hear her do this.

Now having recently lost my second GSD Sheba, my husband felt her walk past him this morning, she brushed against his legs, it is so comforting to know she is in the house, and I feel her presence also, in my car that she used to love going in, and in the lounge where she used to sleep.

Miss her dreadfully, I had to put her to sleep on Monday evening, I can't believe I am never going to see her again.

We lost our pet dog in 2000. After she died, my mother would have dreams about the dog being followed by a little bird.

Weeks after that, one morning, a little bird came to the kitchen window sill and tapped its beak on the window. It came for days and weeks, tapping away on the kitchen window.

My mother was convinced that the bird was a kind of re-incarnation of our pet dog, and she was coming back to tell us that it was okay, and she was all right. Spooksville, or what?

Sounds like an idea explored in "Pet Sematary" by stephen king. creepy but sad results.
once a lady told me that she thinks animals spirits "recycle" faster than humans, maybe not to come back as the same pet, but to come back nonetheless.
i have never had a pet come back, but if i lost a pet, i would believe, as i believe with humans, the pet is now in a better place.

As a dog owner myself, I believe they do. I didn't see any of my past pets come back, but I strongly hope that when I go, I will have them all by my side in heaven.

Yes, my friend had a dog, it adored her, a dobermon, she adored it. Unfortunately, she had a newborn baby, and it bit the baby on the head, growling at him. It was jealous. She was hysterical, and her hubby just marched it to the vet, and had it destroyed. A week later, she awoke, she could feel a lump on the bed, (the dog used to curl up with her) she looked down, and saw the dog!! She was awake, she saw her, the dog looked at her all sad, like to say sorry, then disappeared, she was heartbroken.

my dog came back as a cat. now the neighbours dog make his life hell, never gives him a moment peace which is ironic really since the neighbours dog is a reincarnated cat. that cat died when my dog chased him into the road

After the pet is cremated you can place the ashes inside a boomerang. Then every time you throw it your pet will come back to you.

I was told that dogs are more spiritual than people and that yes, they do remain around you - or rather the spirit does - after death.

A friend of mine, who is into Spiritualism, "felt" her dog in the house after it died.
