Saint Louis might be selling some of our parks to businesses. Barnes Jewish Hospital might buy some of Forest Park to add more to the hospital. I think this is a horrible idea. Do you think it is too? Why?

We all know that the war in Iraq has claimed more than 650,000 Iraqi civilian lives, lasted already four years (longer than US involvement in World War 2), and has been proven to not be beneficial to anyone in anyway. Why are we in Iraq when North Korea is testing nuclear weapons and they pose a much greater threat?

Early in the Iraq war, protests were frequent, and strong, and people made the public opinion known. I live in California, land of the Liberals. In the last few months, I have seen the Hippie movement come back in the way of music and fashion, and yet, I have not seen the peaceful protest make a comeback. I want people's opionons. What's the matter with kids today?

If a terrorist has information that could save American lives, I favor every form of torture used on that terrorist. Torture is an effective method for extracting information, as well as punishment. The ability to use torture on the enemies of freedom protects freedom- and the fact liberals oppose it, is proof to me they hate freedom. Why do libs cry when a terrorist is tortured, yet say nothing when American soldiers are killed by the same terrorists? I think libs care more about the terrorist than they do the troops- I think the libs deserve to be tortured..

I have seen many 9/11 movies and im sure other people have veiwed them too. And i understand it has been a while since the 9/11 attacks. Yet i am still confused about what excactley has happened many people have been informed that it was a terrorists attack. Yet the 9/11 movies that have been introduced to the american audiences tell different facts to prove against the theory of the 9/11 attacks. And why has there been no change or any protesting against the government. Many people are dying fighting against a war that may have nothing to do with the bombings of 9/11 i think theres something wrong with Americas gonernment.I would like to recieve any information i meant from the veiwers of this question.Ok i just quickly typed this up beleive me i could write better this is just a personal qeustion i thought of asking. They make it sound like U.S. troops are the only ones doing the killing. Why aren't they blaming the insurgents for slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians and children under the false guise of resistance? The insurgents are not freedom fighters but ruthless murderers and terrorists. The presence of the troops does not make the insurgents less accountable for their own actions. If the insurgents were standing up to the U.S. forces, why not just attack the soldiers, instead of resorting to cheap and cowardly tactics like bombing defenseless innocents.

The seals are being slaughtered in Canada!

"The Canadian government has given the go-ahead for hunters to bludgeon to death 335,000 baby harp seals this year." http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/seal_hunt07?c=BbySlblg

We need to brainstorm ways to end the cruel harp seal hunt!

Thanks in advance!

I understand that people are concerned about raising wild animals in an unnatural environment, but for Christ's sake, how can ANYONE justify wanting to kill this perfectly healthy, well looked after little cub?! Polar bears will be extinct soon anyway according to environmentalists. This whole case is just sick IMO.

"Berlin Zoo rallied to the defence of Knut, a three-month-old polar bear cub, on Tuesday, rejecting demands that the animal be allowed to die after being abandoned by its mother. The fate of "cuddly Knut" has gripped the German capital since his birth in December. Rejected by his mother Tosca, the cub was adopted by a zookeeper who moved into the animal's enclosure to care for him round the clock.

Some animal rights campaigners think this will humanise the bear too much and want the zoo to stop saving young animals. Now three-months-old, little Knut is at the centre of a row over whether he should be allowed to continue living or be put down.

BBC News has just reported a Jehovah's Witness woman being found guilty of appalling abuse of 3 foster children during 20 years. Police said her farmhouse was "stinking" and "atrocious" and that this was "The worst case I've ever dealt with". Childrens' skin was rubbed with sandpaper; they were forced to eat excrement, drink bleach, were beaten and burned. This woman attended Tewksbury Kingdom Hall, once putting a sign around a child of hers that read "This child is evil. Do not speak to her."

Did JW elders not wonder if anything was wrong? Did the woman's JW friends not notice the plight of the 3 children? This went on for over 20 years! Was the woman visited and did JWs report anything to Social Services or the Police? Even if they were duped, as were Social Services, has this woman now been disfellowshipped? She has brought God's good name into disrepute and psychologically scarred these children. How could close-knit JWs not notice?

The war in Iraq is a big example ...... do you believe the President outright lied about the legitimacy of this war ? Or were the intelligence sources honestly mistaken ?

Also, do you believe politicians lie purposely to get elected ...or ..... is it just that getting things done in politics is a lot harder than expected or .... if promised something from a politician ..... is the effort good enough ??

Your views please on the matter of prisoners being paid compensation because they did not have plumbed bathroom facilities and now a prisoner in scotland is complaining that his human rights have been violated because, when he uses the phone, the other person gets a recording to tell them that the call is coming from a prison and may be recorded.
what about society's rights not to have our human rights violated?

phew - feel better for that - going to get off my soapbox now and wait for your thoughts.
