The Persians should not deny their history. No one asked them to attack Greece and burn down Athens. The truth is that Greeks did consider the Persians as barbarians. We have to remember that the Greek civilization and the Greek ideals were well above those of the Persians.
P.S. The stoning of people is a practice of Islam, and still holds strong in most Islamic countries.

Island people and Asians complained about Jar Jar Binks and the Trade Federation leader in Star Wars Episode I too. Basically, if you make a film, you are going to offend someone these days. People get offended over the stupidest crap, the movie was epic, and as Leonidus stated in the movie, in the end it won't matter what really happened, just that few stood against many until the end.
Ya know, what, I am a German American, maybe I should be offended by the way they keep showing all these Nazi movies on the History channel, I mean, that isn't an accurate representation of my people, oh, wait, yes, it was. Was being the operable word.
God, I wish people who complained about being offended had to experience something that was TRULY offensive.

For the same reason Italians complain about the Sopranos. They are afraid people will think all Italians are in the mafia. The Persians are afraid people will think all of them are barbaric.

I guess they view that incident in history a little differently.
If Turkey made a film of the landing at Gallipoli from their own perspective -- they won it -- I would not be too happy.

They do not tolerate the slightest criticism even if it is the truth, it is the same in all the Moslem countries. Their mentality is very different to the western world's.
