The Americans, the Europeans, and even the Israelis really don't know what it is all about, do they? During the last generation, hundreds of thousands of children have been taught all over the Muslim world in madrass schools to become martyrs for Allah in order to kill the infidels.
These youngsters not only are ready to do it, but are actually in the process of doing it. Bombs are going off all over the world killing and maiming thousands of people, not only on 9/11 in the U.S., in London, Madrid and Bali, but in Africa, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and many other places. The first signs of the Islamic tsunami are already here, but the West doesn't understand, or doesn't want to understand what is coming.
The Americans, instead of realizing that this is as bad as World War Two, or even worse, are going to pull out of Iraq, handing it over to Iran on a silver platter. Next may come the Saudis and the rest of the Gulf states.
When dirty bombs go off all over Western towns, who is going to stop the Iranians?

Definitely not worth it. As docscholl so succinctly put it: the White House took it's eye off the ball and now the whole WORLD is paying the price. What a pity Al Gore didn't get into the White House in 2000. I am sure he would have Osama in jail by now and would have approached the whole situation differently. Taking out Saddam Hussein might have appeared to be a good idea at the time, but it has empowered the Iranians as Saddam was one of the forces keeping them in check. Now they stand unopposed in the Middle East and they are fully aware that the US is involved in a war they cannot win. They know that the US is overextended when it comes to their military and this is why they continue to refuse to co-operate with the international community regarding their uranium enrichment programme. What a mess!!!

It is the old story, "If I knew then what I know today, I would have been against it".
If our leaders decide that we have the right to change governments by force, we will be at war forever and continue to have our young people needlessly killed and crippled while our quality of life is diminished by the cost of these wars and the enemy is watching our deterioration.
No, I don't think the price was worth the war.

It's very similar to ALL wars since Vietnam. There are plenty of ups and downs. And the media is in bed with the left spinning and grinding the country into the ground. Go Hillary and paloci, you guys rule!!

When we finish the mission, then I will tell you if it was worth it. Right now, I say yes.....Saddam and his henchmen are all dead. Iraq is moving towards a democracy....This may take 10-25 years. 4 years in is a little premature to know if our efforts are worth it. Our soldiers lives are not wasted like liberals want you to think.

Prior to the Iraq invasion, there was a clear-cut objective:
Invade Afghanistan, find Osama bin Laden and rid the world of Islamic terrorists.
That was a worthy cause.
Unfortunately, Americans were lied to and led to believe that terrorists were being sheltered in Iraq.
With the promise of a swift victory, full of over-confidence and plans to cover our costs with Iraqi oil revenue, we sent our troops into harms way.
We did not send in enough troops initially, despite warnings from well-seasoned military veterans.
We did not provide adequate protection for our troops - not enough body armor, heavy-duty Humvee, etc....
We also did not understand the social structure of Iraq and the end result has been the creation of hundreds (if not thousands) of Iraqi citizens taking up arms against us.
I'm sure there are some seasoned terrorists operating in Iraq, but we've done a splendid job of f--king up their entire socio-economic structure that anyone with half a brain can understand why they hate us.
So no, it was NOT worth it.
And now we're bracing ourselves for a renewed assault in Afghanistan because we've lost sight of the original objective...that being to capture bin Ladin and wipe out the terrorist organization.
Happy anniversary, Mr. President...you lied to us, again (see link).

I think the situation in Iraq is horrible. Even more then when it begun. I don't think it was worth it and I don't think the loss of life was worth it either.
