Ok, so now the police are expected to apologise for the arrest of two brothers one of whom was shot. Well, NO.....no apology should be given. It's ok for people to preach hatred and threats to kill on the streets of England and Great Britain and nobody feels the need to make an apology. However, when police act, in our interests I might add, they are scorned and accused of God knows what. These people who cry out about the police would soon demand to be protected if something was going on at the top of their road and then the police would be the best thing since sliced bread. Apologise....NO. What are we, going to roll over everytime somebody is upset, I don't think so. Men fought for this country, men died for this country and men and women are still dying for this country. Don't start calling me a racist, if you do you've completely missed the point of what I am saying. I'm proud to be English, I'm proud to be white and I'm proud to be part of our great nation.

I mean nationalistic as in being proud of every aspect of this country. I mean patriotic as in praising the good aspects of this country and attempting to fix the bad aspects. I mean, come on, people. During the 2000 elections, everyone was just insistent that President Bush would be the best man for the job. Now how many people think that? I believe it is less than 43%? The man was such a heavy alcoholic that his wife stated she would leave him unless he stopped drinking (which he probably still does in secret). Now you recognize your mistake of voting for Bush. You should have recognized that he was not going to go down in history as someone in the top 42 US presidents from the beginning. Not to be mean, but he does somewhat resemble a monkey, in my opinion. You voted for a monkey to be our president. In fact, I think a monkey could do a better job than Bush. Wouldn't you agree? I expect to get many answers because Americans' pride won't let them pass questions like this.

Looking at todays papers,I found myself near tears to see a photo of an Iraqi man searching frantically for his son after a bomb exploded.

This may sound like a simplistic question but what can we do to help put an end to the misery the Iraqi people are going through?

People are people, its awful to witness this pain, Bush should never have invaded Iraq its revolting, shame on him..

but What Can We As Ordinary People Do Now???

Its the 21st century this stuff shouldn't be happening

if the man arrested (the uncle, allegedly) is the one who sexually assaulted and murdered the two year old toddler (in the news today) should wardens become deaf and blind when he arrives in prison, i.e.let the inmates carry out their own justice. If ever there was a reason for the death penalty this has to be one of the worst crimes i have ever heard in my life.

I was in the Army and loved it. I don't fully support this war we are in right now, but full heartedly support our troops. I hope that people that don't support the war at least support our men and women over there.

Just because America is sick and tired of seeing our troops dying in the middle of a civil war. And why do some GOP not think that bush lying and invading a country that had NO connection to terrorism does NOT embolden the terrorists? Now, Iraq is the largest terror training ground in the world. There are more terrorists in Iraq then in the rest of the world.
Also, Why does the GOP think that leaving the Taliban intact in Afghanastan is a GOOD way to fight terrorism?
Is the current GOP retarded? or do they just not have the balls to stand up to a president who's utter incompetence has made the world a much more dangerous place?

A trial starts today of a lunatic terrorist had expolosives and chemicals, and a clear intent to kill the Prime Minister, among others. He was arrested with very little media attention if any in September last year...

Does anyone else think that if he'd be Muslim or dark-skinned, we would have had to put up with a hysterical media coverage and right-wingers ranting about the 'failures' of multiculturalism, etc.?

Can anyone any longer seriously maintain that the 'only' people who are apparently plotting terrorism in this country are immigrants/ethnic minorites?

Shouldn't the profile of terrorists in this country include all people generally with far-right and anti-immigrant views, in the same way that Muslims generally are treated?
