I mean nationalistic as in being proud of every aspect of this country. I mean patriotic as in praising the good aspects of this country and attempting to fix the bad aspects. I mean, come on, people. During the 2000 elections, everyone was just insistent that President Bush would be the best man for the job. Now how many people think that? I believe it is less than 43%? The man was such a heavy alcoholic that his wife stated she would leave him unless he stopped drinking (which he probably still does in secret). Now you recognize your mistake of voting for Bush. You should have recognized that he was not going to go down in history as someone in the top 42 US presidents from the beginning. Not to be mean, but he does somewhat resemble a monkey, in my opinion. You voted for a monkey to be our president. In fact, I think a monkey could do a better job than Bush. Wouldn't you agree? I expect to get many answers because Americans' pride won't let them pass questions like htis.

So I guess the 2.9 trillion dollar plan Bush wants for Iraq or whatever it was is something you support? The fact we owe China and Europe over half a trillion dollars (at least of two years ago) is good? Yet all this is somehow covered up by the fact that most people in the US have money to buy products. Wait a minute. Where do people get their money from anyway? Oh, yeah, most of it comes from credit cards. So that doesn't really cover it up.....or does it?

The US is indebted to China to the point of self destruction. The Chinese are investing heavily in US real estate, and commerce. The middle income jobs, (The main tax base of any country), have been sent to primarily China but other Asian countries as well. The reason is to increase the wealth of the few. The US still has 45 million people with no health insurance. If the trend does not stop, the US empire will never reach the extent desired by the neo-cons. As a Canadian, I'm not impressed that those in control of the US 's future are willing to compromise the sovereignty of their nation in the name of greed.

****I mean patriotic as in praising the good aspects of this country and attempting to fix the bad aspects.****

Your so called question starts out sounding reasonable, and then it dissolves into more Bush hater diatribe.
What about our economy? No matter how much you people try to say otherwise, its very good.
That could be praised, but no, you want to bash Bush.
What about 4.6% unemployment? That could be praised, but no, you want to bash Bush.
You dont even care to mention any good aspects like your question started out saying.....then the predictable happens.
What amazes me is that people like yourself can talk a good line about pointing out the good aspects but then you just revert to the bashing mentality...
I hope you arent trying to portray yourself as a patriot, because using your own "question" as a template....you arent.
