It depends on the type of offence. A "sex offence" can be anything from violent rape to peeing outside behind a tree and getting caught. In the former cae, of course you should be notifed, in the latter case, probably not.

Wanting the government to give notices is not going to fix the problem only cause more of them. The responsibility for protecting your children is primarily YOURS. Teach your children to not tolerate anyone touching them. Teach them to talk freely with you about everything and to never trust adults will always do what is best. Most sex offenses occur by people known to the family of the abused child. The media pushes registry and notices when most of the time the first offender is the person that attacks children. The real predator will not strike in his own area unless he is really really bad. Be aware of what is going on around your children. Trust no one. PERIOD

Here in Canada,it is the responsibility of the local police department to let the community at large there is a dangerous offender[sex or otherwise] in the immediate area.I am a former salvation hostel worker.that"s how I know about the sex offender law.I suggest you contact your local police department for more information,I"m sure they will provide you with all the information you need.Good luck on your paper.

I was sexually molested by a man when I was seven.they should have a national website for people to go to.or parents can call the local police wher they can find information about local perverts. to find out where molesters and such people live.It would take many millions of dollars to hire people all over the country to tell the millions of people where they live.so you can warn your children and know to be careful.as nothing will completely protect them but you.warn your children that someone shouldn't touch them inappropriately.I am so glad he didnt rape me.but just touching me messed me up for years, But do not to make them afraid ,being afraid of people should not be encouraged.to be afraid is bad.to worry is bad,but we must protect the little children.but still allow them to be children.and not put so much weirdness in their little heads. I say Death to child molesters. But it must be proved .my little girl.when she was nine told her friend that this man touched her, felt her up, a neighbour man. then I asked her about it and she said she lied, so they must be really proven to have molested before they kill the molester.

There are web sites that provide that information. I'd give them to you but I don't know what a 'PAPPER' IS! Is that like a rapper?

why they should ? Because i think along with the parents it is the governments responsibility to keep track of these people . I mean I would absoloutly pickett any community that allows a known sex offender to be near kids . Why do you think so many ppl are sick of these perverts running our streets preying upon our kids.

The government isn't our babysitter . Americans are capable of looking it up on our own . Democrats want us to think we aren't capable of living our own lives . They'd like us all to be communists / socialists .

They can contact you by mail. They can tell you what he or she looks like, and block intersection. You can thank the ACLU for that. You just got to protect their rights. In the words of Dirty Harry "What about the kids rights? Who speaks for them?"

no, they should force the sex offender to go ring bells in the neighborhood, and introduce himself.
