Looking at todays papers,I found myself near tears to see a photo of an Iraqi man searching frantically for his son after a bomb exploded.

This may sound like a simplistic question but what can we do to help put an end to the misery the Iraqi people are going through?

People are people, its awful to witness this pain, Bush should never have invaded Iraq its revolting, shame on him..

but What Can We As Ordinary People Do Now???

Its the 21st century this stuff shouldn't be happening

Listen 'Nighthawk' when you're finished shooting deer and running from the sherrif u might re-read my question, maybe Cleteus or someone there can help u?

Im talking about the deaths of INNOCENT people Not terrorists.. would the probs disappear if the troops left now?- NO of course not.

Bush should never have sent them in in the first place..it was all due to his daddy complex, and his fixation with saddam..

So get your head out of the sand u red-neck.
Bush created this problem, I feel equally sorry for young US troops dying there

There was no planning as to what should be done once they got rid of Saddam.I think that there is no answer to the problem now ,I just hope I am wrong. There are more people being killed every day than were killed in the days of Saddam I,m not supporting the things he did but he did have different factions in Iraq living together, maybe more should have been done diplomatically.

There are many things people can do to help, but the question is, will your help reach them?

There are support group, organizations, peace corps, etc that will accept donations for specific "tragedies" (whether they are fire victims, natural disaster victims, etc).

When you start trying get involved in political matters, that is when things turn from black and white, to grey.

You cannot tell where or who exactly your help is reaching.
Unless you hop on a plane, fly to Iraq, go to the location of the boming and find a person that looks like they need help and then help that ONE person, you won't know whether or help is reaching the right people.

Because no matter how tragic the situation, there will ALWAYS be someone taking advantage of that help.

If you wish, try making donations to the different organizations out there like the peace corp, red cross, etc.
Ask them if they have specific donation collections going on for the different tragedies (ie, hurricane relief, etc)

Funny how when the locals are killing each other and it makes the news that people give a hoot. Iraq old government was killing people by the thousands using chemical weapons and would have used nukes if they had the time. Stop blaming the US.

Why don't you ask the terrorists who are murdering innocent people day after day. Do you think for one second they would stop by US forces leaving? Get your head out of the sand.

Stop supporting terrorists like George Bush. Start pushing for repsonsibility in foregin affairs and stop propping up and supporting dictatorial regimes that terrorize their people. Support freedom movements and other democracies even if you disagree with them. Stop invading countries for financial gain. Etc.

Amen.

What can we do? Rais our voices and make ourselves heard. Start by using the power of that computer you're sitting at--e-mail your Senators and Congressional representatives--telll them what you think--and keep telling them.
