Given the dire events that may have occurred in some hospitals during Hurricane Katrina, would you oppose or defend euthanasia for terminally ill patients in extreme circumstances, such as those who are in severe pain without palliative treatment or hope for rescue in the foreseeable future

I'm a teacher trying to get some students up to date on current events from around the world. Does anyone know where summaries can be found? It's hard for them to jump into an event that has been ongoing and the news doesn't explain earlier events.

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine recently gave the OK to build the Freedom Tower where the WTC twin towers once stood. I personally hate the Freedom Tower and would rather see the twin towers rebuilt.

The U.S. sure didn't show much "honor" when it turned it's back on the rest of the world and invaded Iraq.

About the only time I have ever felt sorry for a United fan. But to be crushed to death - Hilsborough - from behind, or battered to death by French police from the front? The police just laid in without a thought of what was happening. An absolute disgrace - as well as frightening.
An English bobby would have to check on your nationality before he even drew his truncheon - let alone reached for the tear gas.
And what was the tear gas about? There was a stonking great wire wall between them and the fans, so the fans were no instant threat.
Yet again the french (small F on purpose) police have proved that they dive in with sticks, club to death, then ask questions of the corpse.
This time United fans have my sympathy.
What do you reckon?

Is the planned withdrawal of UK forces as a result of a job well done, or is it really just a smokescreen to help the political fortunes of the Labour Party in the UK, and a US administration who are desperate to put a good spin on an Iraq story on the run up to the 2008 elections.
